Scraps everywhere

How do you (organize) your scraps?
Do you dump them in a box? Do you cut them into strips if possible or or do you organize them by color?
I am needing to do something with mine. If I dump them into a container then I'm continually digging thru them or I tend to just ignore them & buy more fabric. What a mess.
I am in the process over the last 2 years in making a scrap quilt but I get bored doing the same thing.
Any help would be appreciated

You are never going to believe this---in the bottom of my scrap drawer that I was just cleaning----I found my olfa rotary cutter.
I don't even remember how long it's been missing.ROFLOL

i keep scraps in two very large rubbermaid boxes...i do not bother to organize them but having see thru boxes lets me know they are scraps...i do keep solid colors in a separate box and whites, off whites and white on whites in another box...the boxes i use are 66 qt...nice and deep...i go through them from time to time and donate what no longer interests me to the local church thrift store...

I keep mine in a clear rubbermaid container too. I usally dig through for applique projects but usally that is about it.
I want to make a scrap quilt this year we will see. (when I typed this I typed crap quilt I am wondering if its a freudian slip)

I keep mine in clear bins too. I've labeled them "small scraps" and "large scraps". That way if I need something really small I don't have to look through all of my scraps and vice versa. I'll be interested to see how others organize them. Good question!

I'm following Bonnie's method at Quiltville.com At the moment I've got 6 clear shoe boxes for "scraps". They aren't full, but then I tend to make scrappy quilts.

i have rubbermaid containers the ones that are for sweaters and roll under the bed - the stack nicely - arent to heavy when full - have lids that swing open on both ends and fit nicely under work tables easy to open th ehinged lid and pop in while cutting or sewing
then every so often i will dump all out on floor and sort by color and value then when sewing and i need just a little bit or an extra wow it is at the finger tips

There is another member here also that likes scraps. I'll have to try to find her name.
I TRY to keep mine by size. "TRY" being the key word here. LOL
I mark the clear plastic containers: 2 1/2, 3 1/2 etc. I TRY to cut up any scraps that I have after making a quilt into one of the sizes then just toss them in the correct bin. It mixes the colors but when a pattern says I need a certain size strip or square I can just pull out that size and rout through it for anything that might match.
