What a clever idea, Sharon! I'm thinking Saturday, September 5th would be a great date for our "Pillowcase Sew-In"! My thought is that's a three day weekend for most of us...so we should be able to squeeze in one day of sewing on that particular weekend! Rght?! What do you think, Ladies?! Shall we declare September 5th as our QIAD "Pillowcase Sew-In"?????

That sounds great Marcia to have a "sew-in" on Sept. 5. I didn't know I suggested it.......LOL but sounds good to me. I have made so many pillowcases now I think I can make them in my sleep. My DGD has several, of course in Princess fabric or butterflies. I have some neat varitiy of fabrics set aside for pillowcase and do you think I can find them.......NO......It's all Sandi65's fault.... When she was coming to visit I put everything up so she would have somewhere to sleep....LOL have to blame someone, it sure wasn't my fault....

I have not been on here in some time. But I see we are back to making more pillow cases. I am going to banish myself to the sewing room and get as many done as I can!

Sept 5th sounds ok with me. I'll probably get some fabric cut in preparation so I can zip right through them.
Edited to add: How high should we aim?

Wow- it's been pouring pillowcases here at my house!!! QIAD-Linda (aka 'Ma Parker') sent a dozen fabulous pillowcases! I absolutely LOVED the beautiful soft celery striped fabric with the black accent strip. The metallic gold on the leaves added such flare! Of course the patriotic prints were wonderful. In fact, one R/W/B print was cute as a button (since the print consisted of BUTTONS lined up in rows)!
Thank you for the six pillowcases, Judi! The Moose Lodge fabric is a delightful print that is sure to be a popular one with the patients! The patriotic star print with the bouquet of flowers pictured alongside the stars is a gorgeous print! The floral striped print is an eye-catcher too!
What fun fabrics you had selected for your eight pillowcases, Kathy! The purple fabric is a favorite of mine (since I absolutely LOVE purple fabrics)!!! The beach scene material on a pillowcase cuff is cute! The Christmas fabric sewn up into pillowcases will be delivered just in time for the soldiers to enjoy them for Christmas. The little star print on a cuff is cute and colorful!
All in all, Ladies, you did a mighty fine job with each and everyone of the pillowcases! Thank you sooooooo much for your pillowcase donations! Your three hearts must be so enormous from all the acts of kindness you do!
A big BEAR hug for each of you~Marcia

Received four cozy pillowcases from quiltfan60! The patriotic print is awesome! Any soldier would be PROUD to rest his/her head on this pillowcase! I loved the warm and inviting fabrics of the other three pillowcases. One pillowcase was a Christmas print on a dark creamy background and aother fabric reminded me of mistletoe on a tan background!
Your pillowcases are top-notch work and I know the soldiers will appreciate the effort you put into making them! Kudos to you, Linda, for showing your support to our wounded soldiers! Hugs~ Marcia
