I don't think I will be making the Dear Jane quilt for awhile I made the Civil Love Letters quilt a year or so ago and we did 6 blocks a month for 2 years. Right now I'm over it!

Hi Cindyg I'm glad to be back. I have missed everyone. I am trying to make time for the forum. I'm always so busy. So many new quilters I need to get to know. I really am over it we made 121 6 1/2 paper pieced blocks for the Civil War Love Letters Quilt. It's beautiful but I don't have it quilted yet. I am so busy quilting for others I never get my stuff done. I think I have about 7 quilt tops to quilt that are mine.

I was thrilled to find a p.m. from "Jody" who says she lives in Gig Harbor asking about our Dear Janes! What fun! Perhaps we're actual neighbors! But Jody! I tried to answer your pm, but the "addy" won't work. Please try again! I would love to get together and chat up our Jane!

Mary

JODY, I received your second p.m. but still can't send a response. QIAD says your username doesn't exist. But hope you will get this message. I will be at the Starbucks near the Target at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 2nd. (outside table if possible) I hope you get this message and show up! I will be the one with the tote of fabrics labeled Dear Jane! haha! If you want to see my picture, look under photos and you can see me holding my 24" UGRR. Hope to meet you!

Jody, I got your pm and we have a date! I just have the book and copy the pictures. I have no directions. I have to say, my blocks have come out a few different sizes - all within 1/2". I'll bring them all with me, my book, and my ruler! See you there!

mary
p.s. hope you get your pm issues sorted out with QIAD!

Hopefully this will settle my posting woes. Jody@GigHarbor had to change to jodydearjane so her username could be recognized.

the username jodydearjane works for posting messages and for receiving and sending mail. The old username Jody@GigHarbor does not work because of the special @ in the username.

Thank goodness this has finally been figured out. The webmaster was quite helpful.

Mary, I have so many questions about your dear jane. What colorway is it? My dear jane is mostly in the brown civil war reproduction fabrics; it does have an occasional pink, red or blue civil war reproduction fabric for contrast.

Are you mostly foundation paper piecing or machine piecing? Or are you doing it all by hand sewing? Are you hand appliquing; if so what method of applique do you use? Or are you machine appliquing?

These are the questions I have been sorting out before I start. I have been overwhelmed with all the different instructions;some of which I do not understand.

Hey, Jody! Glad to see you got it all sorted out. I'll send you a test message. As for my DJ, I was in a hurry to gather fabrics to take in the RV with us last winter, so I grabbed all my scraps. So I guess it's scrappy. And colorful! With a cream background. I'm using any and all methods of quilting. piecing, paper piecing, hand applique, etc. I'll bring my blocks with me next Thursday. We drove by that Starbucks today and I mentally staked out our table!
