Hi Lynn....I found this thread again! I just located the search feature! Good thing I sew better than I view this site.
Yes, I am in. I found a fabric with some cupids on it...very soft. I have two fat quarters did not measure to see if that will make 30 squares, if not can I send something else to make up the difference. I will find a second fabric and will purchase enough for the 30 blocks. Does anyone know the amount of fabric 30 X 5 inch blocks takes....
Look forward to receiving further directions. Thanks, this sounds like fun...

If you were buying fabric off a bolt that was 44 inches wide, and cutting off the selvage edge, you'll end up with about 42 inches wide. You'll get 8 squares out of one width, so for 30 charms you'll have to cut four, 5 inch by 42 inch strips.
Therefore you need to buy 20 inches minimum of a fabric this width, since you will have to sqaure off the cut edge when you get it home. I got 3/4 of a yard last time, which is 9 inches times 3, or 27 inches of fabric. You could also buy less and get 2/3 of a yard, which is 24 inches.
Fat quarters are usually 18x22 approx. You'll get 12 charms from a fat quarter.
