Quiltaddict - in here, it is never too late!!! Of course, we'd love to have you on board!

Welcome to the forums, and our community!!!! I hope you join more projects here, and have fun posting!

I'm hoping more people will join in, as when I asked about interest in this earlier this summer, there were at least 20 people that thought they would join, but I know plans change!

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, QA, but I was offline yesterday - had to go to Des Moines for a dr. appt and - of course - did some fabric shopping! Got back home last night just in time for bad storms - DH was a sweetheart and stayed up with the weather radio and flashlight, so I could get some sleep!

Now, I'm off to work! LOL! I finally had a 3 day weekend!

Evie, thank you for that link. They have a nice one for NY that doesn't look too difficult. Do all of the blocks have to have the same fabrics? I'm still up in the air on this one, but I'll know soon.

Wow - I was having trouble, too, and thought it was just me... just kept going around in circles trying to navigate that site. Whew! Do you need to join to see these blocks? I'd like to see more of them, but couldn't seem to.

I like the Vermont block (hummm - seems to me it looks like an Ohio Star, but I could be wrong), but the Iowa block - Cindy does not like Y seams!!! No, no, no, don't make me! (I should, just to get over it!)

I can see the fall fabric I've picked out working with the Vermont block, so we'll see!

OK, I've made a decision! Because of the military we have moved around some. The last 3 states, counting this one, has problems with tornadoes! So, I'm doing the Cyclone block! I seem to remember a fabric store with some swirling material that I might be able to fussy cut for the center block. Oh, the states I'm talking about are Florida (4 years), Alabama (14 years) and now Missouri (10 years). Even though the block pattern is 9 1/2" it will be easy to enlarge it to 12 1/2" by using the largest flying geese ruler. It's one of the free patterns on this website. I think that fits me better than trying to do just one state.

I had thought about doing the Army Star because my oldest is in the Army Reserves, my brothers and my father were in the regular Army. But then, DH and I were in the Air Force.

Thought about the Road to California, since I grew up in Southern California, but it should be Road From California since I no longer live there.

So, what pattern is everyone else doing?

LOL, Evie, the cyclone block sounds perfect! Big surprise, but I'm going to do the "Georgia" block on the website listed. I was planning on appliquing a peach in the center square or rubberstamping one and embellishing it, but....as the best laid plans go, I may change that. I got the new Thimbleberries fabric line called Autumn and it is gorgeous! It has oak leaves with acorns and beautiful fall colors, I opened the pkg. and it jumped out and screamed at me to go in this block swap! LOL! You know how fabric talks to us!
