This thread has been very quiet. Everyone must be busy sewing, or for some, moving. I'd rather sew. LOL

My top is finished and just needs a border - can't decide which one. LOL So, it'll stay on the design wall until something "speaks to me". Happy sewing everyone!

I saw Majik's (Mary's) Calendar quilt when I was in MO this past weekend (we caravaned on to Paducah) and it was absolutely gorgeous!! All the blocks were fabulous!! I asked her how she felt about flying geese...I'm not saying what she said:)

I'm beginning to really like that braided border. Does anyone know how to do that? Heaven knows, I've got plenty of scraps. ROFLOL

I did Alina's original yellow and blue borders, but for some reason, mine seemed like it was missing something. One more narrow dark blue border framed it up just right! I'll bind it in the same dark blue as well.

My 401 that I use for MQing needs a new power cord. The one I have is hinky, it needs to be positioned "just so", otherwise I lose power. Once I get that little issue taken care of, I will be ready to do more machine quilting.

Deanne, quilterscache has directions for the French braid technique. Other than cutting the strips (ugh) it looks easy to put together.

Deanne...
I did use the braided border idea from Quilter's Cache... I just used fat and skinny pieces...
I think for my skinney's I used 1"x7.5" Hope that helps... it went together REALLY quick... and I got to use lots of scraps up!!!

mine is on the design wall and I am sewing it together (finally) I think I might use orange instead of yellow for my first border since I have it in my stash...I'll give it a try

SUCH A PRETTY QUILT THANK-YOU AGAIN
