I'm interested in *maybe* doing this. On the page with the instructions for the block, it says that it makes a 12 inch block--- so does that mean that the actual finished size is 12 inches, or 12 1/2 inches? I'm very new to piecing-- so I'm going to give it a try and see how they turn out.

If I think they look half-way decent, I may join in. Is the deadline to have the blocks there now the 15th? Just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!
Gwen

Bama they will actually be 12 1/2 inches. And yes they need to be there by the 15th. It is an easy pattern. I made mine in an evening. Don't worry about them being perfect. They is to have fun and not stress over your skills. Your skills will only get better with more practice and this is a good way to get the practice. It is a different block every month so different skills. Hope you hop aboard.

Caroline, Count me in. In digging through my stash looking for "spring", I found that I did have a couple of pieces of floral fabrics which will work for January. I've got two of the blocks made and the 3rd one is cut out. I even made one at 9" for the Mystery Block swap.

The block looks easy. I will go for it and give it a try.
