You do fantastic work. I only hope that some day I will be as good as you on free motion. Any tips you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks again girls, for all the kind and encouraging comments!

DarleneElaine, as for tips on where to start with free motion machine quilting, I don't really know what to recommend... This was my first real attempt (unless a couple of 15"x20" practice quilt sandwiches count), and I'm sure there are others here with far more experience. However, there was an interesting thread on stippling/meandering in the Technique section on this forum a few weeks ago. I'll see if I can find it and bump it to the top.

Oh, Mary! It's wonderful and what fun to design it yourself! I love the anchors and all the quilting. You should be very proud. Now, the real questions is....have you given it to your friend and what did they think of your "homemade" gift? Especially since you hide your hobby so others won't think you're strange?

I bet your friends will absolutely love it! Let us know!

Thank you MsSewNSew! And, no, my friend hasn't yet seen it. I'll go visit her summer place now on Saturday, so won't know until then what she'll think... I will have to make her swear not to tell anyone, however, so that my secret hobby can remain a secret...:-)
