It's been a while since I've read/posted to this thread, so I just spent some time catching up.
Cindy and Busylady -- I really like both of your Jewel Box quilts.
I've been working on my UFOs/WIPs and have made tremdous progress in the last 2 1/2 weeks since I've gotten back to my sewing machine. Getting all of the UFOs/WIPs organized has made a huge difference.
I've worked a bit on everything - Orange Crush, a 5-patch baby quilt w/o a name yet, my black & white 4-patch stacked posie, the pink 4-patch strippy quilt, one of the mystery block swap quilts, my Moda U quilt, Chiclets, and Stack-N-Whack. I've also cut the fabric for a quilt that a group of my friends and I are making at our mini-retreat. Chiclets is completed, and tonight I finished sewing the blocks for the Stack-N-Whack and have the blocks sewn together in diagonal rows. I've cut the first 4 setting triangles and discovered I forgot the seam allowance when I figured what size square I needed. It doesn't look like I'll be able to fudge, so I'm going to have to recut the triangles.
While I've been doing all this sewing, I've been sewing together 2" med/dark and light squares to ultimately make 4-patches for a couple of new quilt I have perculating in the back of my mind. I'm used up all of my cut squares, so I think I'm going to cut into my 'ugly' pink and brown fabric and really get started on my pink & brown CW quilt.
Oh I knew there was something else. I've finally figured out how I'm going to finish quilting the center square of the Compass Lone Star. Now I just have to figure out if I want to do it on my sewing machine, or load it on my girlfriends new longarm when she gets finally gets it.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when the sewing room is clean and organized and you are listening to a book on CD.
