It's not fattening like chocolate.......it's cheaper than a 'shrink'........and just because I like it!

I'm just barely starting on my first quilt, so I don't have a major stash yet. I only bought what I needed for my first quilt, but I do have some left over fabric from other sewing projects.

I was doing some shopping last week with my mom, she does have a stash. Anyway, there were about 10 different pieces of fabric that I just really loved (about 20 more that I really liked) and had to hold myself in check. I could see the second quilt I wanted to make and I'm not even finished with the first block on my first quilt. *laughing* I told myself that I need to prove to myself that I will finish the fist one before I allow myself to start acquiring a stash.

I'm really good at starting things, but not so great at finishing things - I want to break that little habit. The incentive of being able to buy that beautiful fabric I saw might just help me finish. *grin*

What makes me buy the fabric that I really like, is because it may not be there next week. As I learned with the Ariel fabric. I didn't buy it and it sold out, so only recently found a few yards of it on ebay.
So now if I really really like it, I buy 3 yards of it.

It keeps us in our "Comfort Zone" and gives us that warm, fuzzy feeling. You don't have to know why, just go with the flow and comfort of knowing there are so many of us out here that understand the needs.

Fabric is to exsist, and to exsist we must have fabric.

Hi Everyone, I just had to add that I love fabric! I have a little stash and am constantly adding to it. I, too, am guilty of buying because I like it. When I am feeling down, I just go up and look at my stash and find myself smiling. My DH is very supportive of my quilting. I am blessed!

There is just something about fabric that attracts quilters, like a moth to the light. We need to own it, possess it and touch it. I love looking at my fabric collection! It just makes me happy.

I think that quilting material is the passion of my life. It doesn't talk back, give you a hard time, or cost you after the initial purchase. It only brings pleasure. Looking at it, feeling it, and looking at the full array of colors you have is wonderful. I would buy material before clothing or going anywhere anyday. I am a homebody, and love doing what makes me feel best which is quilting.

I guess we are a bread of our own.
