That all sounds super - you can end your trip at the Houston quilt show. I have a guest bedroom. We're eating out though - I'm not cooking. I will have some sweet tea and maybe dessert. I hate to cook! We can spend one whole day in the back of that U-Haul looking at all the fabric you have collected in your travels! Yee Haw!

I've got my map out right now...plotting a path that takes us to all y'alls houses!
Georgiapeach has it right...I'm not that great a driver but I can usually get from here to there without killing myself or someone else! The TNT could come in handy though. When we blow past those weigh stations and the highway patrol sees the roads buckling under the weight of all the fabric we've collected...we might need it to distract them!
Cindyg has it right...if we start NOW we can make it to Houston in time for the quilt show in November! Heck, we could set up a store by then with all our stuff we've found!
Hey GP, maybe we should get a bus and collect quilters as we make our rounds! What do you think Eleanor would say when we pull up in her parking lot and tell her that her forum is here?!?!

gooseegg, did you say watermelon salad? Wow, that sounds awfully GOOD! How about sharing the recipe with me, and doing it before maryq sees that I've asked and tells me I have to stop cheating on the cookbook she's doing!!!! LOL! In fact, tell me it isn't for the cookbook, so I won't have to deal with any grief over it! ha!ha! By the way, that Peach Cream Tart was sooooo good, I just can't wait until fresh peaches come in season to make it.
Dragonfly, we need to schedule this trip when Ga. peaches are in season...and take all the ladies some fresh Ga. peaches! Although, can't do that...I'll be canning and freezing peaches like Granny Clampett, so I guess I'll just have to UPS peaches to the gals instead. Can't go in July because that's when I'll be doing the tomatoes and making salsa. I know, I've heard of Del Monte, but it's a ritual with me and home-grown just tastes better.

Dragonfly, I'm ROF LOL about the road buckling under the weight of all the fabric we'll be hauling!!! But, I wasn't really planning on hauling fabric, I wanted to hire dudes to do that for us and haul it in a truck, so we could focus on acquiring fabric.
I LOVE your idea .... yes, let's just cut to the chase here and get one of those huge chartered buses, or actually, a whole fleet of them...and pick up forum ladies from all over the place. Won't have to drive, we'll have bus drivers. That way we can spend more time eating! And quilting! And gabbing! And eating some more! We'll need to have QIAD-Linda schedule to close QIAD to the public and we'll go in and take over the store. I want a class with Eleanor and to meet all the QIAD people. And I want my picture taken with that cute little Orion!!! Who wants to join us on the chartered bus fleet and make this a real blow-out???

O.K., I have been gone and nobody missed me!!
I got to quilt with Quiltcreator!! I didn't even know of her town until I met her at QIAD. I sure wish we cold get a QIAD community round-up someday, like our own convention and yak, sew, vendor shop, and have fun!!

Welcome back, cynluvs - where have you been?
GP - we did not go to QIAD. She means we met on this forum. And then I went to her town and gave a class. And I think the reason she has been gone is that she messed up the quilt she was making for the class and is afraid to admit it.

Georgiapeach...no problemo! We'll rent a bus with a canning kitchen in the back and you can quilt and can yourself across the good ol' USA! We can spread joy and jelly all along the way!
Boy, we sure have active imaginations! Now if we could just win the lottery and make our dreams come true. Where is Ed McMahon when you need him?!

As of yet, I have only met Quilt-Florida in person but have gabbed with about 6 on the phone!
