Thanks for the encouraging comments. Today, I was sewing slower and being more careful and even pinning some of the time. The mats turned out better each time. I wanted to make about 24 for the tables but will be happy with 12 to 15. I can only sew for a short amount of time because my back has issues. Sew a bit - rest in the recliner a bit - sew a bit - take some meds - and then put it all away before DGS gets home.

Miriam - Loved your comment about the drive by at 25 mph.

Have a great evening -

Diana

My job:Testing skin products for science. Yukky! Temporary, 2twice a day.. Get to read lots of waiting/sitting/testing.. Until season is flower/hot weather. Being out of work for many years, don't see myself going back to work.

This might change my bad habits for when one is offered. Miss my cat and think of him, all alone in huge house. Wondering if he is OK!

The fact I have a bus pass for 1mth, make errunds along the way..
4pm is coming must return to science..

My ebay account is building momentum quite something to create.

Just a quick note. The double wedding ring quilt that won me the super prize here is qoing to be in the picture section of McCalls Quilts July/Aug 2014 issue. They just emailed me to let me know. I submitted a picture to them when I finished it. It was a pattern from their magazine that one of their staff designed. :)) AWESOME:) I win batting from them and two copies of the magazine. Will give one to my son of course LOL his prize:))

Congrats, Izzy! I a, so excited for you!!

And, I took Miriam's advice about the drive by. While I didn't hang it on the front door, I did put it on the back of a chair and took a "fast" phone pic. I am sharing it with you so you can see how it looks.

Hello again,

We got into our regular site, but not totally situated with the soft ground. We are actually sitting in it about centered. We had to watch on of our slides really close, so it wouldn't hit our storage shed.
Also, can't put the awning out, because it would it our little tree. LOL

But at least we are now hooked up to our DirecTV. We missed that the most. We had TV from the antenna, but it's just not the same.

Our warranty work on RV is April 21. Still don't know how many days they will have our rig. But that's going to work out fine, because we have all of our yearly appts. set for those days, while we will be staying with our son and DIL.

We hope to have our boat back here by the first of May for spring fishing. I know a "certain lady" doesn't like that word, but I hope she will forgive Lyn and I for mentioning it. We enjoy time with our DH's and will be spending a lot of time on the water this summer.

Lyn got short changed this winter, due to the cold in South Texas, but I am hoping that she and her DH are now getting some time wetting their line and hooking some big ones.

Welcome again to our newbies. That was good to bring them up to speed on our short cuts and appreciations.

I really am getting anxious to get my sewing out. But I am catching up on my reading and will soon be busy out doors with my flowers and birds.

Happy Day, Everyone.

Good afternoon -

I had hot chilies for dinner and woke up twice during the night with fire in my stomach! I drank half a bottle of pepto before things finally calmed down. How disappointing - things I could eat with abandon in my youth are being denied me in my golden years - drat!

So I slept in and have been behind all day. Tons of uglies, vendors coming in and out to finish up this and that, and then a nice sit on the back deck while DH tried to plink the woodpeckers. And of course an hour out in my sewing hole - I'm getting ready to paint over some really old furniture DH made. I'm going to use it to store fabric and UFOs

Cindyg - been praying daily for you and Don, and will continue tomorrow.

Chriss - praying for your DSs interview.

Many thanks for all the helpful advice on how to prepare for fire and the resulting insurance 'fun'. xoxo Sharona

Have a lovely remainder of the day!

Good afternoon! It’s chilly and windy here. I put out an oriole feeder and three humming bird feeders… Come to dinner, Birdies! Of course, it’s supposed to get down to 35 tonight yet again. Maybe that will be the last cold night… well, I can hope so. I’ve been working on my Hole in the Wall blocks and went over and let Maggie out and played with her a bit. Odie looked on jealously but then did some exploring on his own. The bigger dogs romped together.

Izzy—congratulations to you!!! I will look forward to my copy of the magazine and seeing your picture! In 2001 I had an article I wrote about my Mom published along with the photos I submitted in Quilt Magazine. Mom was so pleased. I didn’t tell her, and she got her magazine and saw it. She called me almost squealing with delight. I received some House of White Birches pattern books and some magazine copies.

Diana—I think your candle mat looks awesome! What a fun reception you will be having—

I just got a rental call and need to go find DH out on the farm…
