I just realized that I could get two noodles into a SNACK zip lock bag. Some of you may mean snack bags but I didn't know. Had to try it out and sure enough two fit in them.
NOW......do I put my name on each baggy? OR just the large one? Do you use your fourm name or real name or both? I'm guessing that we will have 30 people. If we put our name on each little bag then everyone will know who sent what noodles. Right?
Maryq, I am waiting to see what you come up with for postage. I agree with you that they should fit into the flat rate envelope, but heck what do I know since I haven't done this and have no idea what 60 noodles look like or weigh! :-)
OKAY......I know I'm being a pain, but this is my first noodle swap.
Have a great sewing/quilting day!

MaryMargaret, I have sent my noodle to Amie in the flat rate ENVELOPE, which now costs $4.80. Even with the noodles in snack bags & inside another bag it is a tight fit. You HAVE to tape the top shut because it is bursting at the seams!!! This is by far the cheapest way to go if we are only doing one swap, but if you are going to be doing 2 months or 120 noodles it would be easier to mail back on the 2nd month in the priority flat rate BOX, which costs $9.80 now.

Good luck in figuring this one out.

I would like to be put on the list also.

Today I sent out a bag of noodles to Amie and it cost $6.80 each way. But I used the big priority mail envelopes from the PO--It wasn't a flat rate envelope.

Thanks Sharon for the update on the $4.80 flat rate envelope. I have used those before and it is a squeeze getting the noddles in there. But it's nice not to have to worry about the cost, cuz it's $4.80 no matter HOW much you squeeze in!! LOL. I'm sending my mystery blocks in one and I can get them all in cuz they lay flat. I think too that if you squeeze as much air as possible out of the zipppy bags it might help. I roll the bag a little to get the max of air out!

I'm still going to check with our local post office--they are very friendly and helpful so maybe they can give me some good ideas!

Thanks!

I can't wait. I used all my strips from last years Christmas noodles to make a quilt top. I needed more to make a border or two. This will be perfect. Lori
