I finished my UFO/WIP quilt top and I have the backing, now I just need to go and buy some batting. I also have a Christmas block swap quilt top finished and waiting to be pinned.

Yesterday I decided to pull out another ufo that is 15 yrs old and really needs to be finished. I started a birthday quilt for my DD#3 when she was going to be 3 yrs old, well, DD#3 will be 18 this April and I guess it is time to get this done. It is a lap size quilt in pastel prints with a white border and the top is finished but the border needs something so I decided to add some quick turn flowers from El's, Magic Vine and Grandmother's Garden patterns. I will post a pic when I get done.

Traci, that sounds like a reasonable plan. I need to drag a UFO out this weekend as well, the Purple Horror for my nephew and his wife. I keep feeling like I want to abandon it and just make them something else, but I will be a good girl and at least take another look at it. Started it 3 years ago, and there it sits...<sigh>

Carole, I get up at 5:30 every morning, have coffee, fresh fruit w/yogurt and toast with DH before he leaves for work at 6:30. This gives me 2 hours to go online and do some sewing before I drive DD#3 to school.

Is it a UFO if you get a pattern and the fabric and make just one or two trial squares and then put everything into a giant zippy and put it in a drawer to work on later?

Or is that still classified as stash. If that's technically a UFO, I've got about a half dozen more than I told you about.

Ah-HA! The truth comes out!

JudyWoo, you are so funny! No quilt police and no rules here...but if it's whimpering to you it's probably a UFO...

Just turned the volume down on the tv and I'm hearing some faint whimpering coming from my toy room. So I guess I have about 14 UFO's waiting to see the light of day. lol

hi! my name is claire. I have 29 ufos as well as orphan blocks. We are trying to move - you get the picture I also have 2 pods worth of fabric in my yard! I just may be the winner as i have never owned a shop - might as well though. i am a certified quilt junkie. Just finished Joan Fords scrap therapy here in central new york. Today I got back two really beautiful hand quilted quilts from the mennonite girl that does them for me for the last 13 years. One of them came out of Joan's class. I belong to three quilt guilds, and a fiber arts guild. My son Quilts too. He is 15, and is an art quilter. I am more traditional. Too many quilts - too little time!

Well s**t, add another UFO to MY list...I spent some time this morning putting together my yummy fall blocks from CindyB's swap! My two girls helped me get them balanced, in between doing lessons. I found some pretty cocoa brown for a narrow first border and a green (of course!) for the outside border.

I am thinking about doing a double layer of batting, and a flannel or brushed cotton backing...and I will have to tie it, but may use Decatur knots so they don't show. It's going to make a perfect blankie to keep me warm on chilly days at the park!!

Need to hit the fabric store; am nearly out of batting and Guttermann's thread is on sale at JoAnn's.

Carole ... how does a Decatur knot differ from a square knot?
