I keep a running list of projects to complete and another list of tops to be quilted. The largest it has been is 23 UFOs (after Paducah one year), and 5 tops to be quilted.
I think right now I am at 8 UFOs and about 5 to be quilted.

Yep, I am at the point where I have quilt tops galore and I need to turn them into *finishes*--! It is time to break down and buy a walking foot, bite the bullet, and learn how to machine quilt. Another peak to scale...but I think it will be fun...I hope!
I did some work this past week or so on my "mug of the month" project, the paper pieced coffee mugs. I snuck out to a LQS alone (lovely!) and found fabrics for September, October, and December's mugs. The October fabric is my favorite by far: it's a comical Halloween print featuring a ghoul's wedding...reminds me a little of the old Grateful Dead posters. It's ideal because I *love* Halloween and DH and I got married in October...so I fussy-cut the fabric so that the mug features the skeleton bride and groom. It is *so danged CUTE*!!
I now have eleven of my 12 mug blocks all done. Need to find some nice Thanksgiving themed fabric for the last one. Then I can figure out how I'm going to put them all together...

Carol, your "mug of the month" project sounds like it is coming along nicely, hope you post a pic of the finished blocks.
I have been working on charity quilt tops and still have to add binding to my quilt as you go project. The charity quilt tops will be turned in at quilt group this next week for others to quilt. I will keep 3 to do myself and turn in 5 for someone else to take home and finish. I need to quit starting new projects and seriously put a dent in that ufo pile.

Carole, good luck with your walking foot. I absolutely love mine. I machine quilt because I can't afford to pay a LA quilter for charity quilts.

WOO HOO - I've made progress! I finished quilting baby Hannah's quilt and it is off the quilting machine. Now all I have to do is make the binding, bind the quilt and it's finito! I was so afraid of quilting with that Minkee backing but it was really no problem. We'll see how the binding goes.

Cindyg, good for you! I am still plugging away at my quilt as you go lap throw and only need to do the outer binding.

I finished the binding on my lap throw late last night. This ufo has been sitting around for about 5 years and was supposed to be a twin size quilt but it would never have gotten finished if I waited to make it that large.LOL It is still a beautiful quilt, if I do say so myself. I will post a picture later today or tomorrow because me helpers, DD#3 and DH are not available to hold it for me.

If I had a dollar for every UFO I could go on a small vacation! Hehe! I think that applique has taken over so much of my spare time that I will just have to keep some of those UFOs on the back burner. I have discovered that sometimes, if I loose interest, I put it away and several months later I pull it out again. It seems like a whole new project with a head start! It helps keep me motivated! Happy Stitching! Melissa
