Nice pics, I have family living in Alaska at Ninilchek and my niece goes to college at Fairbanks. I lived in Alaska for two years only I was toward the end of the Aleutian chain at Adak. I heard it is closed now.. I was at the Naval Air Station. My husband brought me some gold nuggets from Point Barrow...My sister in law and niece started quilting while they were there and went on retreats.. I will have to ask her if she went into that quilt store.. I imagine she did. for they went to Anchorage a lot. They just came back from there again.. for they haul trailers up there ever so often and she can visit her sons who still live their. Very nice pictures..... glad you enjoyed your trip.

Have always wanted to go "North To Alaska," but the closest I get is getting involved with the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, each year. By involved, I mean cyperspace wise. Use to do it with my students and even had Vern Halter, a musher/attorney/kennel owner from SD, (who now resides in Alaska) came down to our school twice. Our theater was packed. Vern would come down after the race, bring all of gear, dogs, etc and students---high school students were enthralled. Ours was first high school he had been asked to come to. We only had a student body of 2600 kids. I am the one who got the ball rolling for him to visit our school.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. Beautiful.
