BACKING FABRIC...WHAT DO YOU USE?

I also always use flannel. It comes in some very nice prints now so isn't a problem.

I use Marti Michell's Quilting in sections technique, although I was first introduced to part of the methos my Kay Woods. Using this method means you can use smaller widths of fabric and don't have to deal with those 108 inch. width. I bought some fabric on sale at El's for the Atic Windows quilt. I coordinated with the from of the quilt. I usually like to use a stripe fabric. That just makes it easier to get everything lined up. I have never used flanned but I am going to use it for my next quilt. I am going to have to buy some of the wide fabric for the linning of my Mom's quilt that the Church quilters are going to quilt for me so the advice on where to buy that linning is greatly appreciated.

I use fleece (with no batting) for lap quilts also flannel.
For bed quilts I am happy with the wide muslin. (Try to get Roclon).
