Grammy65 - the sewing room looks so great! I also see that you have a quilt top looking like a Bear's Paw quilt there...? Is it? I really like the Bear's paw pattern, and dream about making one sooner or later...

Hi Homespun.....If you are talking about the one laying on my sewing table, that is not a Bear's Paw. I am making it for my DDIL. It was fun to make. Of course now that I am trying to think of the pattern and where I got it I can't. It was in a magazine, and it is somewhere in my sewing room. LOL

I quilted it on my longarm.

Yeah, that's the one I meant. I can see now that it is not a Bear's paw. It looks absolutely fantastic, though! I'm sure she'll be so happy when it is finished!

grammy, beautiful quilt whatever the pattern is, it is gorgeous! And I love the little wallhanging, too. Your room is great, and it looks very organized. Looks like what I call a functional working room and those are the best! Seeing everyone's pics of their quilting/sewing rooms is so much better than looking in a magazine at rooms...love seeing them!

Great sewing room it looks just like the one I am moving out of right now. I know what you mean about it closing in on you. I love the pictures I thought we were walking into my sewing room! Thanks for sharing your photos.

Re: OK...I''m Going to be Brave
Hi Eajosian....yes, that is my first attempt at a Hawaiian block. Also my first attempt at needle turn applique`. In 2005 at our quilt retreat we had Mary Cesar from Hawaii. I had been trying to find her book everywhere on Hawaiian birth flowers. Since I was born in Hawaii, I wanted to be able to do something from the islands to give as gifts. I went to her website and couldn't find it. Saw there was a telephone number, so I called it. Well Mary answered (in Hawaii). We had a nice long chat and I asked her if she would ever consider coming here to teach at our retreat. Long story short...the people who run the retreat ran into her in Houston, and booked her. She was a blast. I also was able to get her book. That is what that block is from. It is the block for April.
Here are a couple pictures from one of Mary's classes. She taught us how to make a Hawaiian quilt design. I don't think I could ever do a large quilt. That sucker is all one piece. So will stick to wall hangings thank you very much. Anyway this was the quilt design I came up with. Keep in mind it will be a lot narrower after it is appliqued....

Grammy - have been looking for the pattern for that zig zaggy rainbow colored quilt. Can you tell me where to get it?
