Lynn - Great questions for a newbie! The blocks are to be in my mailbox by the last day of the month or sooner. You let me know in the beginning of the month that you are interested in joining us depending on if life happenings give you time to make your blocks. Always make a sample block for you to keep so you able to make yourself a sample quilt at the end of the year.
Each month is different as far as fabrics and colors. This month the fabric colors are your choice in medium tones. Not to light, not to dark. Use any flower prints with a coordinating fabric and white Tone on Tone for the background. ENJOY STASH DIVING!!!

Here is the link that will also explain the Lotto Requirements. https://www.quiltinaday.com/community/t ... opic=32191

When you have questions please feel free to post them here. Many are long time Lotto Pals and they can answer many questions faster than I can as they are awake much earlier. I live in CA. I will post you my address in a PM.

I have two blocks done. I sent Teresa pics. She will post when she has some time from her nursing job. I am using the tri recs tool and it is working out well.

Now why didn't Teresa's post show earlier?

You are all way ahead of me this month. I am going fabric shopping on Monday. I have to see my orthopedic doctor in Corpus Christi for a follow up visit. We are planning to stop at JoAnne's for me after my check up.

Can't wait to see what colors I find. I see pinks, blues, and yellows being used. I will try to keep that in mind as I pick some pretty fabric.

Velda - Thank you for the tip on the percentage of printing the blocks for paper piecing or making a template for squaring the individual sections. Very helpful to many. I Love the interaction of tips from everyone.
Enjoy your fabric shopping trip on Monday. Prayers for a positive outcome at the Drs.
***For everyone: If you don't have any 1930s fabric in your stash you might want to pick up a Fat Quarter of 4 different prints, preferably the flower ones but animals are ok also. You will need them for April

Valerie - great blocks and wonderful fabrics!! Can't wait to receive yours and Lori's. Anticipation mounts 😀😀😀

This is a tricky block as it is not forgiving. Accuracy in cutting and not going over 1/4" seams are very important. I know you ALL will stitch up some beautiful blocks!!!!

I would like to join this month also. I have 3 blocks to send in. This block and El's Pink Lemonade block are my 2 favorites of all of her blocks. Looks like Valerie and I had on our "Rose colored glasses" as mine are also pinks and White/on/White. :)
Have Fun,

Still working on my lotto blocks!! I have more pieces cut and ready to sew.... Made one on Sunday, but I need more practice on 1/4 seams cuz it doesn't measure up to 12.5 I get 12.25.... so I'm still working on them! Not giving up yet!!!

Oh Mary those seams can be a nightmare! I find I have to go slow (no racing the machine as I hear others in class do!). Most important though is to start with accurate cutting. If it isn't cut right to begin with, the block will never be right. I cut with the line of the ruler on the fabric, not off the side.

Also, I have a quarter inch mark on my machine and always keep my fabric just to the inside of it. That seems to help.

They say "Practice makes Perfect!". Been practicing for 10 years now and not perfect yet!

Maryq: I thought mine was a bit off, too. But I spritzed it with water and pressed it really good from the front and then the back and I found that it really was 12 1/2 after all!!!

I was really trying to stay steady with my seams, but pressing is so very important, too.

Here's my first block finished:

Have more cut and working on them slow and steady. Really a beautiful block to work on.

Hope you are all having fun with it.
