Good midday!
The sun is out shining and it is beautiful here in the mountain west. The Sundance Film Festival started yesterday, the one that Robert Redford does, so Park City is swarming with celebs - us locals know to stay out of there! LOL The weather is nice enough to drive up to the outlets, but alas, they are in the heart of Park City - so I will wait until another time.
Found the fabric I want to use for the BOM here - the mystery quilt, just need one piece, a TOT, all the rest are just perfect! They are from the Perenials Line of fabrics, greens and pinks - so I have a good assortment of lights and darks. So now to get started on that project.
FIl is giving DH fits and the care home as well - refusing to take his meds - then that causes more problems - a vicious circle. So far they have convinced him to take them. All the problems that we had with his drug coverage not being paid for 2 years, we had hoped that it was just a oversight on SIL not knowing that there was a bill for it, nope, found out in researching the bill, that she had changed it to her address and then just not paid it! UGGH!!!! At least now we have control and getting on top of all things.
Off to go and sew - something I haven't been down here to do in a couple of days! Nice to be in the Batt Cave again!
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Just a quickie! All is good here, if dusty. It looks like I have a gray dog now instead of a black one! I dont' even want to talk about my own hair! lol!
Going to meet Carole and DH tonite at Silly Al's, an Italian restaurant here in QZ. Will be good to see them again! We'll tell each other hi from all of you!
Pat, so good to hear your "voice". Glad things are smoothing out for you for the time being. Hope Tom heals quickly.

Hello all my quilty friends! Just a quick check-in. Had to stop off at the hospital this morning to have lab-work done and decided to get my flu shot while I was there. Of course, the computer system went down just as I was getting checked in. Everything comes to a complete stand-still. Nobody knows how to do anything if the computer goes down. After about 30 minutes, they figured out something in order to get folks checked in, etc. Anyhoo, now I am back at work trying to get stuff done so I can enjoy my long weekend. Hope to make a dent in my birdhouse blocks. I am sure it won't be a big dent, but a start, anyway! LOL
Hope you all are having a wonderful day. I'll check back later.
Hugs and prayers,
Mel

Hello All!!!
That was the worst non Dr's appt I ever had!! First of all the new patient form now has questions like,, do you use street drugs, have you been abused in the last year, & are you afraid in your own home. Well I got undressed The Dr came in asked 1 question & she had to leave for a surgery. She said she doesn't know why they booked me & she was very sorry. If I wanted to wait for an hour or more I could see an other Dr. I was so upset I left & went to all the quilt shops & 2 furniture stores looking for a roll top desk. Now to reschedule and start over with the same Dr. but in a different office.
Lois......hope you had a better Dr's appt than I did. Enjoy your 4 days off.
Jules.....there will be plenty of dry in Veges & if not I think Texas might be having the worse drought conditions.
Teresa.....happy to hear you up & running. Happy Quilting!!
Scrap48.....hope you worked out your computer problems. It sounds like a different but informative meeting. Will you be making you bus friend a quilting buddy?
Suzette.....I'm happy to hear you light skin worked in your favor. ((((HUGS)))))
Izzy.....Happy for you & your snow day!!!Enjoy!!!!! Like the dancing cat.
Vicky.....how long will your tooth be bothering you? I'm happy to see you rested.
Scrappy.....it's good to hear you DH is improving. Praying he will be home soon. And Prayers for you too & your treatment.
Becca.....I need to make muffins...I mean I want to make muffins today. As usual Cranberry yumm Did you get sewing done?
Judi....I'm proud of you for keeping up with the gym. I'm going to start soon. I saw Curves in my travels today & it's not too far from me. I saw a good backing at the $1.99 fabric store but had no $$$ so next time.
Cindyg.....I'm like you don't like to drive into the unknown. I took only 3 wrong turns. Have a wonderful week end. I'm spending mine at the lake too....lol
Sue.....have a wonderful weekend!!
Sharona....happy shopping!!

Re: Friday January 17,2014
Good afternoon! I was AWOL yesterday—in town for a “hurry up and wait” on a HUD inspection for one of our duplexes. The tenant is my friend’s disabled son, and she and I waited on the inspectors. They finally showed up just before noon, so after the inspection we went to lunch at Subway. Then a trip to W-M and back to visit Mom after her nap.
When I returned home, DH was out cutting brush for his quail habitat. He had an interesting experience. The temperature was right around 50 degrees, but a snow/sleet storm blew through and lasted about 15 minutes. I noticed the sky was dark and strange looking as I drove home, but I didn’t get into any of the precipitation. He also said he saw three bald eagles circling above him and the lake while he was working.
Today is twenty degrees cooler, so I am inside… laundry and now sewing down my bird house blocks. I’m on a short break from that.
Scrappy Pat—so good to hear from you! I agree—you are a scrapper! I hope your DH settles in and does his P.T. We’re thinking of you!
Sorry I can’t stick around… Tippy (my Pfaff Tiptronic) is calling me…
Have a great afternoon!

Afternoon all,
Day three of mega antibiotics and I'm finally feeling almost human. I'm a long way away from back to myself but don't feel like a slug anymore. Lots of catching up to do but hubby is keeping a pretty close eye on me so I don't over do LOL. Thanks for the well wishes and positive thoughts, I feel very blessed....
I guess this is a good time to catch up on my quilt magazines and plan my first post slug project. I'm thinking spring placemats, bright, fun and cheerful. Any ideas???? BBL
Happy Stitching!!!! Debi.
