Good afternoon...

Well the neighborhood sale was mostly knick knacky things. A lot of Christmas decorations. Lucy did find a stuffed bear but Cooper didn't find anything. I was hoping to find some clothes. They grow too fast!

Izzy...nice sewing room. You know 45minutes is an easy drive. We should have our own sew retreat, when I find my rotary cutter I bought. I have yet to find it. I bought extra blades too!!!

MaryZ....Scottie is growing faster than the kids. I bet he behaves better most of the time too. Just kidding..the kids are good, it's me that need more something!

Chriss....where was the chicken pattern in? A recent magazine? I have to choose a school for Cooper for kindergarten soon. As I said before we have a cluster and in that cluster is your reside school. It's crazy and I don't understand it so I am hoping I "choose" the right school for him. I am signing Lucy up for head start next year. HOw is Mar? Is soccer over?

Kathy...what pattern did you use for your table topper? I guess you don't have me for your ss. My hints are listed! lol I am ready for cooler weather. We had tornado warning Halloween and very strong winds. Needless to say no trick or treating here. The candy that I bought is slowly dwindling too.

Suzette...you were up early also. I hope you got your uglies done.

Today Miss Vivian turns 1! Where did the year go? She is the sweetest baby. We are having ice cream and cake. I bought her a toy box...I didn't know what to get her so I figured a toy box would be a good thing to have. I sure didn't know they were so expensive tho. The one the kids have I bought at a yard sale long time ago.
Tonight we turn the clocks back. Supposedly we gain a hour but I honestly feel like it just messes with your sleep. They should leave the time alone! lol

I hope everyone has a great evening.

Good afternoon quilty friends.

It is a rainy, blustery day here in the great PNW. It will soon be a wonderful day because DGS will be here in a few minutes!!!

I was up until 3:30 this morning rendering tallow! I feel like such a pioneer...ha ha! I bought about 15 lbs of beef suet from the butcher on Monday and decided that last night was the night. I plan on using it in soap-making. I know, I know...you all are probably saying "gross", right? If you are using store bought soap, you are probably using soap with tallow (sodium tallowate)....it is even in Dove.

No big plans for this weekend...just hanging with DGS. DS3 and the girlfriend will come over tomorrow for dinner and just to visit. Will probably go to the movies, too. I haven't seen him for a while, so it will be a good day!

Wow, the wind really has picked up...I just heard a crash outside, so I best go find out what blew over....

Hope y'all have a splendiferous weekend. I'll check back later.

Hugs and prayers,
Mel

Hello to all my Cotton Pals
I know I have been MIA for awhile, but we are on our way to our winter Texan destrination
Today we are near Houston and my DH and I am so proud of him, to take me to the Quilt
Show. I met a few gals from the forum, too. We made it a very short day, since we had to leave our beagle back at the camper alone and in his crate. But we had such a great time. It is so overwhelming, just as Cindyg and Lyn told me it would be. Now after the boing, boing, boing,
we will be “pooped”, “pooped”, “pooped” LOL.

Lois: So happy to hear you are getting around a little more and some of your independence back.
That is great news.

Dolores: Hope you enjoyed the visit with your grandson. So you are busy with a bunch of blocks. Are these going into a quilt or are you doing the Monthly Lotto this month???

It’s so hard to get caught up on everyone after being away a few days.
Traveling, for some reason, makes me so tired. I guess I don’t sleep as good each night
There are different sounds and the anticipation of traveling the next day. Last night it was
all the excitement of meeting my friends from the Forum. What a treat to now know faces to go
with the names.

I am so filled with new ideas from the show. My DH and I really walked through the show
pretty fast. There is so much to see and WOW we sure could have spent a lot of money on “stuff”
I managed to behave myself and only purchased some fat quarters for $1 each.

I am already hoping to attend again next year.

I need to get off the computer now. Time to find a little snack.

Tomorrow we arrive at Aransas Pass. Looking forward to getting settled in for our stay there.

Hugs to All
Velda
HUGS, 💕 Vel
