Ok, so the tent sale had red and pink fabric 25% off today, so I got some for the peony's. Tomorrow I am going back for the yellow and orange I saw today, as those are on sale tomorrow. Have to go right past the tent sale to get to the quilt show.

Got a few Layer cake blocks done today! They are so fast and easy.. I made 8!

tomorrow I'll tackle the peony blocks...

Teresa... do you want softer colors for the Peonies?

As for the colors of the Peony blocks? Hmmmmm You all are making some great blocks so I think i will leave the decision of colors to you.
I love the creations you all are making. They are so COLORFUL - key word is COLORFUL. You will need a dark ENOUGH color for it not to get lost in the WOW background

I DID IT!!! I made a peony block!!! Well one of the little ones anyway... and it turned out really cute!!! Will photo and share when I get the other parts done!

The block is done and I have the first stem pinned on. DH wanted to go for a walk after dinner and by the time I got home, my hip and knee hurt so bad all I could do was sit. So will finish up soon. Bill night tonight but maybe after that.

I plan on making all of mine and then sitting down to stitch the stems. Not sure if I will button hole or blind stitch.
I do like a button hole stitch every 1/4" though.
Hmmmmmmmm still thinking how I will do mine

I managed to get the first stem hand sewn. I just sewed it like it was binding. Have never really done this kind of applique so not sure what I am doing. Will sew the other stem and leaves on the machine I think.
