Made 12 of these...6 pairs...Make great additions to go with the quilts....I use one of the cases to store the quilt and tuck the other inside...I keeps the quilt clean and I know which quilt is in the case by the cover......

Great Idea Grammiequilts!!!!
Now if I can just get all UFOs done. Maybe I'll make up a pillowcase first, then I can just store the UFO better. LOL
Just kidding, I am going to make up a case from now on, I really like your idea.

Hi Blocksahead. It's too bad the video isn't working for you as it helps a lot, especially if you're a visual person like me. I had to watch it to understand. I'll try to explain it:
1. Take the cuff fabric and lay it on a surface right side up.
2. Take the trim piece that has already been folded in half lengthwise (wrong sides should be together) and lay it on top of the cuff fabric with raw edges lined up.
3. Take the pillowcase body fabric and lay it right side down lining up the raw edges with the trim and cuff.
4. Roll up just the body fabric towards the raw edges until you can grab the bottom of the cuff fabric.
5. Take the bottom of the cuff fabric and bring it to the raw edges and pin. You now will have pinned through the raw edges of the a)right side of the cuff fabric, b)the trim (2 layers as it was folded in half), c)one layer of the body fabric that is face down, and d) the cuff fabric again (this layer is right side down).
6. Sew the raw edges of these layers together.
7. Pull out the fabric that is inside and voila...you have your cuff and trim sewn perfectly to the body of the pillow.
8. Sew the two sides of the pillow case (I use French seams) and you're done.
I hope you understand my directions. These are fun to make and come out really nice.

My sister gave me this pillowcase pattern a couple of years ago and they are the greatest gifts. It did take me a time or two to wrap my brain around the directions so anyone having a problem keep trying. They work up soooo fast and with all the novelty flannels out there you can really personalize them to hobbies or sports fans or anything. I get a kick out the reactions and almost everyone uses pillowcases.

Now does anyone have the yardage requirements? I saw them once somewhere but they are lost again.
Thanks

My directions call for 3/4 yd for the main body fabric, 1/8 yard for the trim and 1/3 yd for the band.
I like a smaller trim, so only use 2", then fold in half lengthwise. I also like a smaller band, and have used as little as 9" and can still pull all the fabric through. Just be sure the pillowcase is long enough for the pillow!
