I'll try this...have never done a mystery quilt before. I have a stack of 30's fat quarters that are just sitting here so I might as well use them. Do you suggest that we pick out a certain number of colors/fabrics before we start on this? Or does it not matter? The mystery quilt idea makes me a little nervous that I might not like the end product. But it's probably good for me to break out of my comfort zone and maybe next I'll be able to handle making a scrappy quilt (I love them, but I know it would take me forever to have just the right scrap next to another just right scrap. LOL)

Redtop and Sadiedaisy, you'll have a lot of fun. One of the great things about a sew along is that just about every day we post our progress, so we get to "talk" to each other and motive each other on slow days or slack days, which we all have from time to time.
I'm still considering mine, I have a lot of stripes and plaids that I wonce made centers with for a star quilt top and it turned out great. So, I MAY choose them with a solid or blender just in case the patterns call for a blender or background. haven't decided quite yet, still have a bit of time to really survey what i have.

Thanks for the encouragement, Kittyquilt. I'm excited to try this and doing 2 blocks a month should be pretty easy. It will be fun to read and/or see how everyone is doing each month. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's finished quilts in the end. I love to see how one pattern can look so different using other fabrics. Thanks for the great idea, DJ!

This sounds like fun! But I can't decide which colors to use.. I'm considering blue/yellow, or lavender/green, or maybe homespun.... Hmmm... I'll have to let you know later which color for sure, but would definitely like to sign up!!!
