Especially for new members: Amie(quilterbee from TN) read about a tragedy of a baby being born in the morning and in the afternoon baby's father was killed in Iraq. She wanted to make a quilt for them. So, lots of members, following her design, a big center for writing a message, surrounded by log cabin like strips, make blocks and sent them to her. She received enough blocks to make three quilts, 1 for baby Joshua, 1 for baby Joshua's mom and 1 for Serviceman Joshua's parents. Amie was able to finish the baby's; but her Dad was very ill and so sweetsarahjane and I pieced the parent's and the mom's. Now they go to grammy 65 to be quilted. Then they will go to another member, so so sorry, I cannot remember the member's name, who will bind them.
Each block was made by a different person and signed by that person. We just sewed the blocks together and added borders. Because there was so much love and kindness stitched into each one, they all "just went together" to make a beautiful quilt top, with no specific pattern. Our thanks to Amie for being out in front of this project and suggesting it to us to participate. Hope this explains a bit how this top came to be. There are 2 companion ones.

So good to see these Projects from the Heart coming together! I am so glad to have participated in this. To all the ladies who are working on this, thanks so very much. I hope the families will be comforted when they are received.
