Ann, I read "Playing for Pizza" the other day. I really enjoyed it. I like all his books--lawyer or not. They never disappoint.
I got a sack of books from a friend the other day and picked one out... "Deadly Threads" a Josie Prescott Antiques Mystery by Jane K. Cleland. I really enjoyed it. There was a lot of information about vintage clothing that I found fascinating, and the murder was very suspenseful... need to get back to sewing, however I picked this up "after sewing hours"...

Try "Sleeping At The Starlight Motel". I like it best on tape, because The Author, Baily White, has such a marvelous delivery it just isn't the same in the written word. I guarantee, that no matter who you are or what you like to read you can not help but enjoy this.
I will also recommend anything by Fannie Flagg. I have always loved reading but feel like I'm wasting time doing it so I buy the CD's and listen to the stories while I'm doing other things. My fav's have always been British Mysteries, when I was able to sew more I eventually made my way through every one in our County Library. Hope you will try some of these for easy reading.

I just finished Mary Higgins Clark's newest book, "The Lost Years". Her books are ALWAYS a good read. But I had a little problem getting into this one. Perhaps it's because I'm being distracted by too much other stuff going on in my life right now.

Wrapped up in John Irving--who I love every bit as much as I love Dickens--reading "Trying to Save Piggy Sneed", a collection of both essays and fiction.

I agree with you John Grisham fans, I love his books! I recently finished Sandra Dallas' new book "True Sisters" and just loved it. Her book "The Diary of Mattie Spenser" is one of my all time favorites. I have read it 3 times. Also, an oldie but goodie, "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck. I can't understand why they haven't remade the old 1930's movie by the same title. It was wonderful! I am an avid reader and have discovered lots of new authors since I bought a Kindle a year and half ago. Best thing I ever bought! (Except my sewing machines!)
