This weekend I got enough cut and ready to sew for both sets. I messed one up unsewing so need to cut for one more bowtie.

Val, hope you feel better soon. No fun being sick and having to take care of family.

Tina, they are fun and a great way to get rid of the scraps. I have always liked the bow tie and am glad I stumbled on this one because it gets the look without funky seams

Maryrose, I will look for your blocks. Im so glad you got to play with us.

These are nice quick blocks. Im curious. Do you sew all the corners on all the blocks, cut them off then make all the blocks or do you make one block at a time. What is your method. Im a one block at a time person.

Chriss, I'm a chain sewer, so things come out looking like trim for a Christmas tree. LOL Goes much faster for me this way plus I find my bobbin stays full much longer. (to quote Maryz) Sure saves on the thread!

Chriss, I chain stitched corners on about 8 then put them together in blocks because I had so many different fabrics. If I was doing all the same fabric, I would chain stitch all the corners first. It is much faster, saves thread, etc to do assembly line sewing.

I did the same as Sue and Vinae, only groups of 20....went very fast.
Good intentions for Saturday aside, I mailed this morning! JR's little niece came by, and had a bunch of stuff to look at, she ended up staying most of Saturday, but was a nice day, all the same....My receipt says the delivery should be on Wednesday!

Chriss, I chain sew each group of colors, then sew that color set together. It really does save me time and thread. :)

I batch/chain sew. By that I mean that I chain sew 5 to 10, then I press those and assemble the next section and chain stitch those. For me it is a way to keep from getting confused.

Oh, I forgot to let you know, I have a bad headache and very light headed. I am not going to get out on the roads today, so my blocks will go out later this week. Sorry.

I do some chain piecing also but so love to finish each block. I usually do one or two at a time, I love ironing them so they are all pretty.

Sue, You are a chain sewer. It reminded me of when Jerry put together my sewing table. Inside the drawer he wrote " To my favorite sewer" well I teased him and asked why he called me a sewer, as in where the toilet water goes. And now you are a chain sewer, LOL>

Tina, I think if I chain sewed too many I would get things mixed up. I just don't do well if I have to think too much

Vinae, if mine were all the same fabric I would have chain sewed them all too. As it is I had two that were wrong, I decided to just remake them rather than unsew.

Becky, sounds like you had a fun Saturday. I will look for your blocks to come this week.

Maryrose, you send those blocks when you feel better. You have more than a month before they are due. get better.

Yvette, I answered your message. I will look for your blocks soon.

We really had a good turn out for this swap. You all are really the kind of swappers I like to swap with. Makes it a blessing to be the hostess of something that runs so smoothly, yep, you all are a great bunch of sewers.
