I am working on the claudia's block of the month. It started last October and I am just this month finding the time to begin. It's a scrap quilt and it's causing me some problems. I have always matched my fabrics. This is a challenge for me as I am using what I have, without purchasing more fabrics and trying to make it scrappy. I am about ready to put the light scraps in one bag and the darker ones in another and whatever I pull out is what I must use in that block. Any suggestions how to make this easier?

KHO...are you doing the Simple Scrappy Treasures?
If so, I am doing it also along with a couple of friends. This is my first scrappy and I opted to use my Kansas Troubles fqs for it; and am so happy with the results.
My friend did recommend putting in the bags, as you mentioned. She says that is the best way to do a scrappy.
Just stop worrying and have fun with it!
Happy Quilting,
Nancy

I was able to cross one more item off my long list of UFS's yesterday! I forgot that I had finished the chicken potholders. I made 4. I'm only going to keep one. The others will be finding new homes shortly - daughters (2) and my granny. My granny is 81 years old and just moved into her own apartment! I can't get over that. She's been living with my aunt in Wisconsin for the last 3-4 yrs after moving from here in FL! I can't get over that one either! lol

I'll post pics shortly.

Nice quilts, knitnoid!

I finished one of my UFO's: a quilted tote bag for my mom using a charm pack. I just posted the pic in the photo section. I should get that in the mail to her today. She knows I'm making her a tote bag, but she has no idea the color or fabrics. I'm excited to hear what she thinks when she gets it. She better like it! :)

KHO, I am also doing the Claudia's BOM and the way I am handling it is, I am using off white tone-on tones for all fabric designated "light" and then it is easier to use the various fabrics I have for the "darks." The charm squares have been great for this. It is very scrappy. BTW, I am proud to say, I am caught up through March!

Just got back from my MIL's. I go out there on Sundays after church to make her lunch and to use her sewing machine (Mine doesn't do buttonholes and she got a new one for Christmas that has a quilting foot too! haha). I quilted my cousin's baby quilt and just have to put the binding on it then it will be finished and off my UFO list! wooohooooo!

IT'S DONE!!!! I'm so excited!

I posted my pics under the topic about stitching in the ditch, but it came out as a red x. Can anyone see the pic? or is it just me?

I got a redx when I posted under the stitch in a ditch topic so I thought I'd try reposting here.
