Leetec, ROFLOL! I remember that show and used to watch it all the time, too. And I kinda have an idea which character I might remind you of, also! LOL! I really didn't think I had an accent until last week my son was up at our cabin painting and I called and got the answering machine with the message I put on it. I listened and then hung up. DH asked me why I didn't leave a message and I laughed and said, "because some woman with a heavy southern accent answered and I didn't recognize her!" If you took away my adjectives and tied my hands behind my back, I couldn't talk at all. Ya'll don't notice it on here because my hands are busy typing, otherwise you'd see it! LOL!

GP, when you are talking in person, do you use your hands too??
I'm seriously thinking about doing a quilt with sampler blocks about me - the Vermont block, the Iowa block, the Bear's Paw, the Goose in the Pond, Maple leaf, Yankee Puzzle, North Wind, North Star, etc.
I really liked the ornaments and sea/ocean related blocks, too!!! I can see so much - a wall hanging with different colored ornaments, and ribbon coming down from the top, to each ornament.... and ocean themed quilt!
Oh, my, maybe I should start working overtime again, it keeps me exhausted and not thinking at all!!! LOL!!!

CindyB, heavens yes I use my hands when I'm talking in person! LOL! I'll bet I even do it when I'm talking to myself! LOL!
The sampler quilt you described sounds like it'd be cute. I saw a lot of blocks that were really nice, too. I can't wait for my book about the history of Georgia quilts to arrive, anxious to see it. But, I sure do like the simplicity of the Georgia block I saw on the quilterscorner website ya'll listed....it was ALL HST and EASY to piece!!! My fabric is really pretty, so I think I'll let it be the focus and not the intricate piecing! LOL! Lazy GP!!!

GP, I think the charater's name was Julia. She had very high standards of hospitality and was very gracious and charming. But boy when she was mad, she'd kill them with kindness. And if that didn't work....

Julia was the older one, the one I was thinking was played by Delta Burke, she played a beauty queen, but - our GP, queen of the forums - isn't anything like that - except she's Southern, and a lady. Delta's character was about herself, and GP is totally about giving!

Delta Burke's char. was Julia's sister as I recall.

Julia was played by Dixie Carter. I liked her, but Suzanne (Delta Burke) just kept me in stitches. I really got a kick out of the Sugarbaker Sister's friend "Bernice". LOL She was such a hoot! I dearly LOVED that show. Still do!

I'd like to sign up for the fall block too. I live in NW PA so I
could make a maple leaf or bear paw. We have alot of both around here.

Well, which is it ladies? Julia or Delta Burke???!! LOL! You know, Delta Burke's character was awfully full of herself and considered herself a Queen! And Julia was the mother hen of the group. I'll leave it up to ya'll, since I can't see myself as ya'll do, it might well be Bernice! ROFLOL!

I think you're the best parts of all three!
Me? I'm Bernice! She had the southern manners but she was irreverant and whacky! I don't know if I have southern manners but I'm sure irreverant and whacky and you certainly never know what I"m going to say or do next.
