I have never done this before. What is the skill level required?? I figure if I only do part of them that will make me more confident in my skills. I think that I will try it since I am not sending blocks to anyone else. Oh shoot....sign me up...I'll come up with a theme when we start.

CyberSue, I decided that if some of the blocks are beyond my skills, I won''''t make them. If I end up with a wallhanging or a lapquilt instead of a large quilt, I''''m okay with that. Besides, we''''re not swapping these blocks. )

Never having participated in anything like this before, and for that matter, only having just started quilting, I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to go about picking colors and a theme. I keep being drawn to either a red, white and blue color scheme, or to a more Victorian plan, using pink, rose, soft yellow and light blue with lots of roses. Hmmm. Still can't make up my mind for sure, but I think hearts would be a good theme either way I go. I plan to make my final decision about colors when I see the first block. I'm looking forward to it and counting down the days! )

is anyone taking this on, or are we waiting to see what happens?
I can try to find 20 9-patch type blocks and cheerlead if that needs to be done.
I have never hosted anything, but if someone (Kitty, Caroline, Sarah Jane, perhaps) will help I am willing to give it a shot

I have PM'd DJ and qiad-linda about taking over to host this one. If I don't hear from DJ by 9-25 I will just jump in.
I will PM everyone who has signed up on that date if we must reorganize.
May have to ask some of you that have been around for awhile for advice as we go. (Willing to will you part of my stash for assistance)

Thanks for offering to host this sampler. I would still like to do it. It was a lot fun seeing all the different ideas for the same block. And it is a good way to try new blocks that we thought we might not be able to do or understand.
