I'm off to the Post Office (after stopping by the LQS and showing it off, and to Wally world to buy a disposable camera), to mail my medallion to Leetac!

I can't wait, CindyB! Oh, I'll have to take some fabric along so I can work on your block in OH, that would be great! Or better yet, buy some there! I see the next round is due to be mailed out Aug 19th which is the day I'll be back from OH so that should work out well.

Lee - I just got back from the PO. It's on it's way to you!
Oh, my, what a time I had!!! I got a disposable camera a WalMart, and didn't realize that it had flash... also didn't realize that batteries cannot go through the mail.... so, ok, because of the flash in the disposable camera, the camera didn't get sent!
The guy was a dufus - so, I said ok, I won't send the camera, but I need a 2-3 mailing envelope to send the block. He told me that I had to BUY an envelope!!!! I was so upset that I left the PO without mailing the block. After fighting with the plumbing company that came out and repaired our dishwasher on Friday (and finding out that we went through 3000 - yes, that's thousands - gallons of water between Friday and Sunday morning) I went back to the Post Office, and talked to the Postmaster. I was so steamed about having to buy an envelope that I know I can get for free! I told the Postmaster that I didn't mind about not sending the camera (new regs came out today) but that the guy at the counter was trying to get me to BUY an envelope!!! Funny thing is that the free envelopes that I was looking for were right beside the ones you have to buy!
Well, at least I got the medallion off!
The Postmaster also told me that they can no longer pick up packages over 13 oz. at businesses or homes if they have stamps on them. These packages have to be taken to the Post Office.

What happened to your dishwaser that made it go through 3000 gallons of water? Did a water line break?

Re: Holiday Round Robin
We had a leak, water on the floor, so we called the plumbing co. In the meantime, DH tried to check it out and he broke the float... they fixed the leak (hint for future - all they had to do is tighten some screws on the motor - common problem with dishwashers!), but ordered the new float that DH broke.
I think that what happened is the repairman (not Maytag!! LOL - Iowa joke) did not take the piece out in the bottom of the drain and so it continually ran water through the dishwasher from Friday night until we shut the water off on Sunday morning!

Re: Holiday Round Robin
Found out today that the guy that came Friday incorrectly installed the float, leaving the dishwasher to continually run water through it - which means water was running from Friday morning to Sunday morning!
