I requested the Hinterburg floor hoop a couple of years ago for Xmas and I am pleased with it. It came with a 22" and a 29" hoop that rotates 360 degrees. I have an adjustable office type chair I use to sit in and have no problems.

I love hand quilting. I have a hoop, and q-snap frame, the huge frame Dad made for me(it does a wonderful finish), and a hinterberg frame. I love them all, each has it's own purpose.

When I'm not in the real mood to quilt, I use the hoop or the q-snap. Each can be moved from room to room(when I want to hide it).

The large frames are for sincere quilting. I always get a better finish with the big frames. I love sitting at the frame Dad made me and remember good times with him. The hinterberg hasn't been used yet. I'm looking forward trying it with a quilt I just finished for our daughter.

Lady farmer, I think the main thing is to enjoy. Don't give up to quickly, I've been told that it takes about 3 hours to really learn the hand quilting procedure. I can remember although I could'nt quilt well, it only took a few minutes and I was hooked for life. I like to machine quilt also, but the hand quilting is so relaxing the enjoyable. Have fun.

Hummingbird that is exactly the one I have. I can't get comfortable using it. It would work well probably if I had the right type of chair. Actually with cool or cold weather, I just love to have the quilt in my lap & use a smaller hand hoop. These Hinterburg's are really well made and very nice.
