YEAAAAAAH....I'm the lucky one who ordered this beautiful stained glass from Ken. Here is the finished product which arrived yesterday:

The pictures do not do the piece justice. The sun didn't hit the small dark triangles in the upper right hand side. It makes them look light, but they are dark. The colors are wonderful. It's a variation of the Dakota Gold block. Now I have to make a quilt to look like that. Of course I was hoping to win this....but alas, I didn't. But way before the drawing I asked Ken to make it and either way I wanted it.

Thanks again Ken. Iowa Gal....you have one very talented husband. It was fun working with you all.

Haven't been on the forum too much the last couple of days. Tomorrow I leave for my quilt retreat in Deadwood. It is always so much fun. Will get to take the Magic Vine class from Sue Bouchard. Taking two other fun classes too. It's the first time the retreat has been held in Deadwood, so it will be different, but fun.

It is a 12" block. Does look large in the photos doesn't it. I think it's just because the pictures were taken up close.

That is just plumb beautiful. I should be able to get my seams to match like that. What talent.

*chuckle* I knew who it went to, but wasn't at liberty to say....

Have a fun time in Deadwood! Hope they keep you busy enough that you don't gamble (too much!)
