Lois, I signed up for an Angela Walters class a few years ago. I bought the panel and the class was delayed 3 weeks and I never did it. I do have one of her books though.

Maryq, I did see the best press on sale. I dilute it with water 50/50. I like it better. Sounds like the plane ride was a fun one. Happy birthday again.

Jana, I know that panic feeling when you can't find the debit card. I can turn the card off from online banking and I've done that. Glad Ethan found it. This time of year the criminals are out in full force looking for opportunities.

Valerie, I hope you can get everything straightened out before you leave. It's doesn't sound like an ideal situation for Tony.

Maryz, they say it's arthritis in the joint, but I think it's more tendon going up the leg. I had to give him the meloxicam this morning. He was hurting probably from sleeping on it. We have a follow up on Friday along with more laser. I'm making a list of questions and requests. I need to get my little boy better.

Judi, I did not get any windows done. Other things got in the way.

Yesterday was full. The cable guy came out just after 10 and was here 2 1/2 hours putting in new cable lines. So I finished up my pumpkin watercolor painting. Once he was finished, it was time to shower and get Jack to the vet. Got back from that and went over to vote. We waited in line over an hours. They had it a a new location and only 4 people were working the check in. We didn't get home until after 4pm.

This morning I had my first PT with the therapist. OMG she worked my shoulder good. It's a little sore. I need to trace a coat pattern for a class I have next week. I also need to figure out the fabric. Don't know what's for dinner tonight.

Have a wonderful day.

Good soggy afternoon. This morning I woke up and the sky was full of pink and orange, then the pink turned into grey and now it's raining. I can see one puddle out there, I'm hoping the water fills the squirrel holes, but that would be an awful lot of rain and very wishful thinking.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARYQ

Went to cardio rehab and two thrift stores then home. I found two ok night gowns. they are in the dryer now. I was going to do a bit of house work but decided that tomorrow would be a much better day to tackle that.

Jana, I never thought of putting more than a microwave in the hole where my oven was. There is an outlet in the cupboard below and one above. I could put the microwave and toaster oven, one above the other, and use them there. I really like that idea. Can you hear my head spinning? High five to Ethan for finding that card. I know just how you felt. I have thought I misplaced my card and am also OCD about making sure I have it in my wallet.

Lori, Jana does have some good ideas, maybe I could email her and pretend she won a trip to beautiful Catheys Valley. Think she'd go for it? Are you appliqueing a coat onto something or making a coat? I'm intrigued. Hope Jack gets all better soon

Lyn, the pretty paper behind glass cupboards is a good idea too. I think I am going to paint all the cabinets. I like grey but not sure what shade to go with. I heard that there are 50 shades of grey, sorry, couldn't help myself.

Lois, hope you get lots out of the class, it sounds interesting. I don't know how to spell any of the doctor things. I do know they all end in ologist.

Diane, yay for the 10th. Hope DH's spots are just that, spots. It has been a rough couple of years, but we keep pushing forward and in the end we will be stronger

Judi, woo hoo on starting the hockey quilt. Could you use his number and name of the team in the border somehow? it's going to be a cool quilt.

Tina, so glad the purging is happening. It feels so wonderful to not have so much junk. I could probably go through some cupboards here and find things I don't use anymore. Crazy what we cram into a house.

Maryz, Glad you finally got to use your washer and dryer. I also have a mis matched set that has been here for years. Sometimes I wish I had a new set but then realize these are fine. My oven was a single oven with a broiler underneath, the broiler wasn't big. Guess teh hole just looks big. I also like the idea of having my microwave and toaster oven/air fryer in that space. I think Mexican food is a wonderful idea. It's warm and cozy food.

Valerie, how can they set up video chats with Tony if his wifi isn't up to par? Sure hope you get to come home soon, a break would be nice.

Maryq, Did Peggy graduate the same year as you? Funny both boys are 50. Glad the plane ride was fun. Neat to see things from the top down. You are funny, I don't own a cook book. I've given them all to Marilyn. I've gotten rid of so many things that I have a lot of empty cupboards in that kitchen.

I think, if I am hungry, I will have a steak for dinner. If I am really hungry I will add mushrooms and onions with it, and a side of broccoli. I've been wanting broccoli lately.

Hope you girls have a great rest of the day,
Chriss

Chriss, glad you found some night gowns. I never understood why they buttons on night clothes. I'm making a quilted coat. The pattern is "The Elemental Coat." Tereasa Coates is teaching the class for our guild workshop next week. It's pretty basic and should be easy. The hardest part will be dealing with quilted fabric.

Lori -

I've made a quilted jacket before -loved it and wore the cuffs out till they were thread bare! Instead of quilt batting, the pattern called for flannel.instead of batting. It was patchwork on the outside, flannel and lined with a cotton fabric. I quilted all the pieces before assembly and serged all the seams for a clean finish. It had buttons and buttonholes, so my machine easily handled putting those in. Enjoy the class! Oh, the jacket was quite warm too.

Lori, I wish I could come with you. I am excited to see what you end up with. What a fun class. I don't get the button thing or the small pocket thing. makes no sense.

Jana, I have a pattern that uses a zip up hoodie as the lining. It leaves the sleeves and hood as is and covers the rest with what I guess would be a "quilt top"

Late getting here. Prayers hugs and love for Diane and DH, Tony, Val Chriss and others with struggles in their lives.
Thanks for good thoughts about lesson plans, handouts, etc. DH said great idea but he felt each one wants to do it their way. He taught math and statistics at jr colleges and DePaul in Chicago. He said it’s time and at 78 time for younger ones to take over, he last taught before Covid.
I always loved to watch Angela W she made ev look so easy. Was sad when her tutorials stopped. Enjoy her classes. Cold tonight, will wait for Indian summer to get a few windows done.
Going to do some hand stitching and then to bed.
Everyone be safe and well.

Here's a video of Teresa Coates showing how to make the coat. She gives some good tips.
