Hi everyone ๐Ÿค—
Lois, congratulations on your weight loss!
Maryz, I took a little class from a volunteer once, she did quilt as you go, it was fun and fast. I think it was about 12" after it was finished. She had the backing square, the batting and then had strips of fabric already cut that we just grabbed what we liked and she just zipper through the instructions and demo and we were sewing and she was walking around helping where needed, it was fun.....it filled about 45 minutes and we all took our own machines, thread and scissors.
Chriss, sounds like a perfect day to me!
Lyn, I hope your packing goes smoothly.
Jana, I laughed at kids too ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‚
Judi, you can do it! What quilt pattern caught your fancy?
Sharon, how are you doing today?
Maryq, I bet your quilting is great! I love your chicken quilt, great job! The cutie frame won't take up much room and you only have it up when you're using it.
Lori, it was me that said red for your new Tahoe ๐Ÿ˜ I have a red Acadia and I love it! It does show dirt but Frankie has actually given it baths which shocks me so he must love it too ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜‚
Valerie, hoping the have answers that are good ๐Ÿ™
Well my dentist appointment is approaching fast so I better get ready, it's just a cleaning. I'm not sure what I'm making for supper yet.
I hope you all have a great day!
Tina

My daughter just called, she is devastated. Her husband has cancer. He has been taking some meds to try and reduce the tumor (GI somewhere). He will be going for a scan to check the progress.

She could use some prayers if that fits with your belief system.

Appreciate it

Good afternoon from another near perfect day in SW. Pa.....Our evenings and nights are cold (had to add a quilt to my bed) but our days have been gorgeous....I told my sister, this would be perfect weather to take a trip to the mountains, just to be a "leaf peeper"......

Here it is late afternoon and I've yet to really accomplish anything...I did have to take a ride to Walgreens to pick up a couple prescriptions and also filled up the tank, now hopefully, I'll "stay in my room".....Even Baby Girl knows where I'm going when I say, I'm going to my room and she'll run and get her favorite spot....

MaryZ, I hope those gals who will be taking your "class" know how lucky they are to have you as a teacher....I would love to have had someone do a class or just be around to show me the ins and outs when I was starting.....

Jana, you're another one, so many good tips...You girls amaze me with all your talent.....

Maryz, yes we were in DC the summer after Kennedy was killed...We had gone to Bedford, Pa for a few days and one day, got up and it was raining so Jim said, let's go....As I said, after the visit at Arlington, he couldn't wait to get out of town and we drove to Winchester, VA before he'd stop! Oh, we had some adventures, good memories...After he retired and the kids were either married or away at school, each week, we'd pick a day and take a drive....Never had a destination or a map and might end up in NY or Maryland or who knows where for lunch.....I think, those are the things I really, really miss..... Now, if my sister and I are out and about and I see a strange road, I'll take it and most times we end up somewhere besides someone's driveway....

Chriss, Your day sounds absolutely perfect! I also think, spending time with your DDIL is great....I was very blessed with my DDILs.....I like you're idea of having your friend pick you up this time....I "used" to have a friend like her when I lived in our other house.... Would you believe, in the 4 years I've been in this house, she's been too busy to visit.....

Val, sending good wishes and lots of prayers for a good report on the CT....My dream as always been to have a small RV, gather up the cat and just take off...BUT, at 87, I don't think my kids would be too happy...Heck, they don't even want me driving, with my sister, to Tennessee...I guess they know, I like to explore and we probably could get into lots of trouble......

Lyn, I too don't like to give gift cards but do like your idea about the snacks etc. in a box.....With all the work you've been doing, I imagine you're sleeping good at night or you should be....It will be good to get back to Texas and that new "she/shed"......

Judi, sounds like you have a big day planned which also sounds like you're feeling better and on the right road.....I think, all at once, you'll realize, WOW, I am better, look what I can do...AND that includes driving......

Has anyone heard from Becca? Have been thinking about her and wondering, praying she and the family are OK....

Well, better get moving....I have 1 more topper to quilt and then bind them (while I'm watching TV)...And speaking of TV, had any of you watched Desperate Housewives way back when? I just found it on Hulu and I'm hooked...Had watched it 10 years ago but am enjoying it more and seeing things I didn't see before....I now, think I'm on season 3...I know, between that and Survivor, warped mind!

Not sure what's on the menu tonight, will play it by ear.....

You all have a great rest of the day.....................

well my week filled up fast. The parents will be here tomorrow which means instead of sewing today I will need to get the windows ready for dad to do some work. Windows will be installed on the 31st.

So, it's Tuesday parents, Wednesday moving furniture away from windows in the morning and CPR class in the afternoon, Thursday windows to be installed, Friday putting the rooms back together where the windows were installed, two rooms four windows. I offered my friend next week but not sure if that is an option for her.

I did get my watering done and a little work on the windows. I've decided to get wide flannel for the baby quilt and not sure if they have it at HL. May have to travel to Joanns next week, but I will get the binding made today.

Valerie, nice of you to take DH on your trip with you. I was thinking that you could just be disruptive for BIL while he is there. walk into the room he is sleeping in and rattle things in the closet and tell him you are looking for something. When he wakes up say, oh, here's the vacuum, please vac the living room. Tell him the dishwasher needs unloading and reloading. Say, oh, could you cook dinner tonight, I am busy. Make life miserable, he would love to move out. Prayers for your son-in-law and also your daughter. Fall break is thanksgiving, winter break is Christmas.

Tina, I think that quilt as you go class sounds fun. I have a quilt as you go tote kit that I should put together. Heck, I have a lot of things I need to put together.

O'Dorothy, I do like survivor, but desperate housewives never caught my attention. Sounds like we may have the same friend. Mine really wants me to take one of those paint class things with her. A paint and sip thing. Well first I don't drink, secondly I've not seen a class offer a painting I would be interested in so I don't want to pay for something I don't want. There is also a stained glass class and each month they offer something different to make, ornament sized. But it's $65, and I haven't seen anything I really wanted to have. She offered to pay my way but I don't want to be a paid friend. It's just all weird. Maybe I will tell her I have to drive you and your sister to Tennessee. LOL

And my break time is over. It's 64 degrees at 2:30 in the afternoon and that wind is moving like crazy. Hope Lois got extra tissues at the store because when I show up for that wonderful chicken soup she talked aout I will need one or two.

See you tomorrow.
