I agree with what Izzy said, I just can't get into modern at all. Sorry, but I think I will sit this one out too.

Izzy and Vinae...This "ripped from the country" country girl (someday I'll be back! :) doesn't have a modern bone in her body either!...but I know when I put all these together it is going to be awesome!

I hope you two MAYBE reconsider...

If not...I know you two will be great cheerleaders!

I went and bought some Kona fabric today. lots of bright happy colors. Still very unsure of what I am going to make but it will be modern and fun.

This medium is so outside my box. but I am very excited to take on this challenge.

Lori, do all the blocks have to be the same design?

I so needed an adventure. this is going to be a great quilt.

Chriss, if you want to make different blocks, have at it. Create away. Lori

I think for me I would need to see the colors others are using.
I am more in line with the bright, cheery pieced or applique (dresdan plate kind) blocks. Not sure I am enough modern for it.

It's not really modern, that's just what I called it for lack of a better name. If to really think about it, it's more Amish like with the solid fabrics. Please don't get hung up on the name. I'm going to do a block with bold bright color.

Thanks Lori,

I bought some great bright colors of Kona. Yellow, Red, Teal, Purple green and black.

I'm really looking forward to getting started.

Teresa...a Dresden Plate sounds awesome!...I think we have a wide open play on colors...and like Lori said..."modern" is just one word to describe it...
I like the idea when Lori described it as more "Amish like"...that is what I see. :)

I'm pretty sure being the Lotto hostess you are not going to want to miss out on this swap...if for no other reason the creativity it allows you and the challenge...and Lori is off to a great start as our hostess..

So...Dresden Plate is it?!

I don't want to make anybody cringe...but when I get my blocks back and if they seem just too bright to me...NO PROBLEM...I will just over dye my quilt with a coffee stain to tone it down..either way it will be awesome!
