Re: Saturday 'PARTAYYYYY' 5th April
A quick “Good Morning, All!” I need to get myself ready to meet my friend and visit Mom. I think my DD and DGD are coming over to have lunch with Mom and me. If I’m lucky, they will come with me out to the farm—I may or may not go get groceries.
Jules—Congratulations to Charley for a successful field trip and high praises!!! We new she was going to be a wonderful teacher—with a mom like you, she must be the sweetest, caring person and teacher. So glad your atmosphere is getting better. Stay in and sew!
Izzy—You had a great shopping day, too. The walnuts are for pincushions—the sharp shells keep pins sharp. I’ll be by for cinnamon rolls!
Velda—I love your bird fabric. I had some and made my DD some place mats; mine is gone. I’m going to do the attic window setting. I really like your idea using the birds!
Sooz—Your 30s prints are beautiful! Of course, so are your batiks! I wish the LQS stocked 30s fabrics here. They and batiks and Kansas Troubles are my favorites. The 30s prints remind me of my grandma and her chicken feed sacks. She made me dresses and pillowcases and a doll quilt (hexies). By the way, did your new DH know of your quilter’s fabric obsession before you got married? Mine did… thankfully! Now he just rolls his eyes when he brings home a package from the mail box.
We went to town last evening to meet friends for dinner. Before we met them, we went to Ace Hardware and got a good Echo chain saw—fortunately on sale for $200 off. DH has gone through three top of their line Craftsman chain saws in less than five years! He just works around the farm. Sear’s comment, “Well they aren’t made for professionals—just light use.” Come on… we don’t cut wood for burning ourselves! We used to cut more than now. I don’t remember what saws he had that burned up, but they didn’t give him as much trouble as the Craftsman ones.
Irish—I’m glad you heard from Karlene! We were all concerned. Give her our best wishes!!!
Well, I MUST get going here! I hope to be back later this afternoon…
MaryQ—I’m REALLY hoping the troll will get out… one way or another. I still think it will be you putting her stuff out to the curb.
Enjoy today!

Good morning
Jules, sounds like Charlie is in the right job to me
and what lucky kids to have her!
Sooz, love all that! I love 30's
Maryq, YEAH MOVING DAY!!!!!!!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!!!!
Maryz, I'll be coloring my hair this weekend, hopefully I remembered what color I used last time that I liked so much
if not I'll have a surprise LOL
Sherry, have fun with your DS today
Chickie, I think they just don't build them like they used to.
I got to go grocery shopping last night in my suburban! As bad as I hate grocery shopping I really enjoyed being able to go LOL Holly had her evaluation this week and passed with flying colors, her boss just loves her and they are hiring her again next year! We are all so happy about that! In New Mexico you have to be hired back every year as a teacher, very stressful.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.
Tina
A toast and cheers at 2 today!

Re: Saturday 'PARTAYYYYY' 5th April
Good morning.. I didnt have time to come play yesterday so this will be a synopsis post...
Judi, I bet Jerry and Ken went to the same acting school.. Jerry is now sick and sure sighs alot when he moves...he is going to take it easy today...
O'Dorothy, I am glad you're moving along on that painting.. it's going to be beautiful when you're done.
Florence, how many surgeries does a reconstruction take? your sis is blessed to have you.
Maryz.. I found out that church members "rent" a space at the church and sell their rummages... but at $2 a yard I can find something.. plus there will be other assorted thingy's that I may need.
Sue, wish you were here.. a goodwill type thrift store is having a parking lot sale today.. lots of shirts and things there
Sherry, our spca just rescued 80 some animals from a house that didn't care for them.. it would be a good place to volunteer.. maybe if you got attached to one through volunteering you'd feel better about taking it home?
Cindyg.. kind of glad that you didn't go camping.. I bet theres no casserole left or I would come have some...hope you find out about that hip soon..
Sharona... hope you find your lost sewing things...funny how you can pack one room and things go missing...
Maryq.. prayers that she gets it all moved... hopefully she will surprise you and have it all out by noon...
Mel, so you get a weekend to yourself? no pawpa, or dgs or ipad???
Izzy, pretty fabric you posted yesterday...
Jules, glad Charley's trip went well.. sorry about the breathing.. would it help to wear one of those white masks?
Sooz, great fabric... I have never used ground shells... they also sell ground shells in pet stores...are you making a pin cushion? I usually use plastic pellets so am curious how the shells work.. let me know.
Chickie, really wish you had some waffles ready for me this morning.. guess I'll settle for cereal.
Marq.. so glad there are moving helpers coming.. huge blessing....
and I am off to the sales, you all have a great day.

Re: Saturday 'PARTAYYYYY' 5th April
Ok now can sit a moment and chat lOL.
DH is out fertilizing and seeding goat fields this morning. Its a lil chilly for me so I will wait a bit only 55 out there burrr after 70 and short sleeves LOL
Walnut shells in pin cusions HUMMM wonder if I could pulverize enough of the walnuts all over my grounds here on farm. Wish I could eat them Loved black walnuts when a kid. Now cant eat nuts due to severe allergy I really think its cause I am one that fell a lil too far from the tree LOL
Red fabric in dryer. Going to give the new Iron a test drive in a bit. sew excited like a new car to me:)) DH saw all my pretties and just laughed he then opens all the drawers and cabinets saying "fabric, fabric, fabric" LOL I told him to stop snooping in my drawers LOL
He loves to tease me on it. He knows I rarely spend but when I do I REALLY DO lol. Gotta save now for Paducah:)))
Just got the kitchen cleaned from my midnight bread frenzy LOL. When I got home yesterday I pasturized a gallon and half milk and made butter which in turn gave me buttermilk to make bread with. So i did well I did 3 batches of dough and of course let it rise and then make cinn rolls and loaves and let them rise then bake. Well finally at midnight all was done.
Chickie come on over got fresh pot of coffee too.
OH MARY movers on the way YIPPEEE I can feel our excitement all the way over here:)
I couldn't imagine having to reapply every year. Here after you work the first day of your 5th year you have tenure and you have to do something really bad to get fired. Now they can move you around to different schools in district to make your life misserable so you will quite but otherwise your secure.
Jules glad Charlie loves her job and they love her says alot about that girl of yours. Did she get to keep her house after breakup? It was such a pretty place I sure hope so:) I hope you start feeling better would have loved to send you our downpours these past two days. More on way here for Mon and Tues.
My hair got highlights yesterday GOOD luck on all those color jobs today ladies:) Like I told DD we are beautiful now LOL she got hair cut took about 2 inches off she missed her last one due to sick.
Well better get a few more things done today.
have fun all. Sew if you can:))

Re: Saturday 'PARTAYYYYY' 5th April
Afternoon everyone.
I have finished taking the fusible off the memory quilts. I checked my stash and have enough leftover fabrics to make matching binding. My friend loaned me pictures to use on the labels. I am glad to get to this point on these. Well, I need to go and get ready to go have my hair done.

Good afternoon from a chilly but now sunny, Sw. Pa...Just a minute ago, it was so dreary but now we have sun........I just have a feeling, one of these days, it's going to be spring, what do you think?
Well so far today, I've changed the bed and read the paper...AND of course checked on my eagles and all seems to be fine in the nest...The little fuzz balls are all eating and getting stronger....Mom and Dad are going to have their "talons" full keeping these 3 in line....
And from the sounds of it, this is going to be a good day.... I know it will be extra good at Maryq's house when that last box is removed.....Just hope all the celebrating doesn't cause another earthquake......Can't wait to see your next post.....
I finally made my reservations for Reno...Kathy's DD, Cari, called and said, she was booking and thought I'd better get with it....Now my sister has to do her's...I just wonder if those in Reno know what to expect when the 3 of us arrive....Let the fun begin!
Well, I've put it off long enough...Guess I'd better get busy on my side of the closet...Still can't figure out how I have so much crap.......
You all have a great day,
for sure I'll check back......

Maryq - Hope your doing a Happy Dance in your house soon. Is it warm enough to prop the door open so she can get out quicker? Lol
Sooz - Nice fabrics!
Everyone sounds very busy.
I didn't buy much yesterday. JoAnn's had flannel on sale and I found a paw print to make Poco pup a couple new pillows. The old pillows have a little too much stuffing and she has trouble climbing onto them. And I have washed them several times when there has been accidents. Got one made last night and she is taking her morning nap on it now.
I did find some neat bird fabric at Hancock's. I'll post a photo in Birdhouse thread. I think I will work on my birdhouses today. I like that fabric and if I use it for backing, I'll need to get back and get it bought soon.
