Many members have gone MISSING in the years I have been on this forum,,,Some voluntary..and some may have died. It is one of those things, My DH has my phone book and he knows that those names with the "funny" names after them are my "Imaginary" friends, but if I died I doubt that would be any sort of priority,

I think IMHO you all have done everything possible to contact the errant hostess and the blocks,,,,,Why not let go, drop the whole thing and move on, I was burned on swaps before, I tried to get my stuff but after a couple of months of waiting I figured life is too short to let something like this consume you. This person may have already used the blocks and gone on her merry way. Going to her house might not get any better results and could be even dangerous,,,,after all we do NOT really know any more than our words on the screen. Love and Peace to you all

Ok folks, I have been here for a few years now. I am sure there are members who are around who have been longer.
I am sorry about the swap. It has happened before and it was a train wreck of epic proportions on this forum. Things became so nasty with folks trying to locate the person.Even locating them in other forums. There were thing posted about when and where they were found and what was said...well, it was just ugly. The havoc it created was just plain ugly.
Then things went from bad to worse and there was a horrendous split with a large group going off into their own private forum. I still miss those gals.Folks ended up being banned from this forum by QIAD and it was just the saddest thing to see my friends fighting so much and all of the anger.

I am sorry that whoever disappeared and so many are hurt. I know it's hard to lose so much work and time and the excitement of receiving the blocks. Would it be possible to just let it go..including the anger and frustration..she is the one who has to live with herself. We only need to concern ourselves with ourself. The more time spent worrying and in anger and frustration hurts us and our health. Maybe she will do the right thing--maybe not.Perhaps things are really bad in her life or who knows... Let's pray that those blocks were put to good use..It just may be one of life's mysteries...
If anything happened to me I am sure my friend would let you know-possibly even my son.
The first person on the forum I ever made contact with was herta and I have't heard or seen a post from her in a long time. I talked to her on the phone once when she was in Rockford but wasn't able to meet her. I often wonder if she has passed or what happened. Oh well, such is life. Take care and I sure hope my post doesn't offend. I just hate to see what happens on the forum when this stuff happens. I sure would hate to lose all of you and have it shut down. Hugs, Sandy being a bit of a downer.

For those of you who weren't here through the last round of missing blocks, Kho is right. It ended in disaster and nearly shut down the forum. It was absolutely horrible. For many of us, this is our only link to the quilting world. I have such a busy life that the few moments I get to spend here a day are really cherished. I would really hate to loose it. The fact is, your will not get your blcoks no matter what you do and it's not healthy to bang your head against a brick wall. Find it in your heart to forget and move on, you will feel much better.
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!
