You are very sweet to do that for him. The answer I have for you is to listen to your heart. If you feel it's for him, give it to him. If not, you have my addy :)

It's just DARLING, Carin! I love it! You did a great job :)

Oh, that's way too cute to give away!!! You will have to decide if you want to give it to the family, then let it go and not think of where it might end up. I'm just not sure I'd give something like your piece that has so much of you in it away. The hand stitching... hummmmmmm.... is HE worth THAT MUCH???

I love the idea of a happy birthday table runner!!! We have big family breakfasts for birthdays. It's at my house on Sunday for DH and one of the DGD's. I would love to spread something like that out on the table! Another thing to put on my list.... Where did you get the Happy Birthday fabric???

DH's family has the most hysterical way of singing Happy Birthday. It's like nothing anyone had ever heard before. I am always ROFL while they are singing. One of the guys starts out "tuning up"... "Ha, hap, hap, hap, haaaappppp!" Meanwhile, everyone else starts "tuning up" the same--only waaaaay off key. This goes on awhile, then they start singing---even farther off key and some are still trying to tune up. I can't tell it like it sounds. It's just way too funny. I love being part of a big rowdy family now!!!

Carin, I really love your table runner. Do what your heart tells you to do with it! I vote for the gift card or a funny birthday card. Leanin' Tree makes some that are FUNNNNNEEEE!!!!

Carin, that is a very cute, fun table runner!

I'm not going to say to keep it or give it to him. But, I will tell you a story. When DH and I first got married, and we merged our two households, he had a very nice floor pillow. I asked him if his mother had made it. He kind of looked embarrassed and said, no, an ex-girlfriend had made it. I have never met, nor care to meet, any ex-girlfriends. That pillow somehow wound up in the dumpster, LOL, (we lived in an apartment at the time). The landlord asked me if it would bother me if he dug it out of the dumpster and gave it to his dog. I said, "Perfect!" :^)

This is really a cute, fun table runner! One thing, if you give this to the friend, it's a present that recognises his family as a unit and seems less threatening to the wife, I would think. But then that's just me. In a way, it's less personal than a gift for Cabela's, which would be, for a guy, MORE personal. But whatever you decide to do, this is just WAAYY to cute to be kept for just birthdays!! What did you back it with? I often back seasonal items with another season, so it serves double duty.
