Re: Binky Brigade
Ok, just emailed Linda about this project and she thinks it is super and "let's get going with it". So again, all that is needed is approx. 15" square blanket made so it is light in weight for a baby to carry, or small child. Soft and cuddly, like flannel, fleece or a soft cotton. I think double-sided would make it nice. PM me for my address, and I will mail them out. Of course, any help with postage is also greatly appreciated (and I promise not to go to Dairy Queen)lol. There is no ending date on this since they continue to send these for the children. No batting is used as it is just for comfort and "lovey". If you can get ahold of any material from old uniforms that is mentioned that they will take those donations. PM me for address.

I think it would be nice to have our label on what we make and if we can get ahold of any old uniforms for material, how about cutting out hearts and sending them along with the blankets? Or just send the material.

Re: Binky Brigade
Judy, What a wonderful idea! My dd and I were digging thru our stashes last night and I came across a tub full of fabric in her garage that I forgot I even had. It is all baby fabric, left over from a few yrs ago when she and I and another dd were making some baby blankets for grandkids and other family memebers. I was thinking about trying to find someplace to donate some small blankets or something to little ones.
I will keep in touch. MY sister lives in Belen NM and has a quilting group there that might be interested in something like this project also. Sounds like a fun, easy and worthwhile project. Thanks for suggesting it. Keep us posted on the details.

Judy what would you like for us to put on our labels? I am going to make a JoAnn's run for a couple of things & thought I would ask while this is on my mind. I will forget later. LOL Thanks a bunch.

Your pic of your first "binky" is so cute. Just perfect. What cute fabric too. Looks like you are having fun Oasis.
Cathy asked about what to put on a label and I just think something like "El's Angels" or "El's Angel Brigade"? How would that sound?

Re: Binky Brigade
Good Morning Judy,
I contacted the Binky people before you made your last post about being project leader. I asked about the kind of blankets/binkies they would like. Here is their response:
Thanks so much for the help. I usually make a small, simple quilt with a thin layer of batting but I have also received many blankets without batting. You can use your imagine and make any type of blanket you like. I appreciate any donation I can get. Thanks again!

This is a message I received from Oasis who was kind enough to contact the "Binky Brigade" people and the above is their answer. Thank you so much Oasis for contacting them and passing along this info. Hugs, Judy

Judy
I have lots of flannel on hand-- would that work? I'd love to help as much as time permits. Would be a great project for me to work on while I'm at Mom's on the weekends!
