It's gorgeous just like it is. Another red border would be nice, but it doesn't need to be lightened up.

Amish quilts are usually dark, I think. This one looks light enough if you are going for the Amish look. It is sure pretty.

I think it looks very nice the way it is. If you need another border, I would stick with black or something dark for a true Amish look. I believe it is mostly the Lancaster, PA area Amish that stick with the darker colors. Midwest Amish are a little more bold in their color schemes.
I'm just a big nerd! I've done some research and look at pictures of Amish quilts to get inspiration. I'm always looking for traditionally Amish patterns made easier!

Very nice! Maybe a the pink fabric in the center for your binding would lighten it up

I would not try to lighten up the quilt unless you do it with the binding. I like what you have going.
