Quilt in a Day Forums

I have a pattern made from 1930's reproduction fabrics. One of the fabrics that it calls for is "white and red shirting". Anyone know what this??

I may be wrong but I think it means a red and white plaid homespun fabric. I wonder if the orginal shirting fabric is made like it use to be.

Mamamary, my first thought was red and white stripes, kind of like ticking for pillows. But maybe you could just use another 30's repro fabric in red and white.
