Hi Susie,

Yes, Kona Bay Fabrics/Seattle Bay Fabrics is a manufacturer of Kona cottons, etc. Here is their web site out of Seattle:

http://www.konabay.com/

You can find more out about them there if you wish.

If anyone is interested, www.quiltingbeeaz.com has their black on sale for $4 a yard. I just bought 5 yards!

Happy quilting,

Karla

Hi Cathy,

Well, you're a serious commercial for Kona, lol. Don't know what you paid for the bolt, but I just checked knitnoid's link, and their's is as low as $1.30 a yard when purchased in a 31 HALF-yard lot. Not bad at all!

Sure glad I asked this question.

Thanks,

Karla

Edited to correct info. Time for this kid to get some ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz, lol.

It's very very hard to sew black fabric with black thread when it's black outside. ! And even though I used the black batting, bearding was a major problem. You can wear out a lint brush fast. I doubt I attempt another quilt using black fabric for a very long time. Now that said, the blackest black is from the Amish:

Here it is! Our world famous black Amish fabric.
Amish quilts are often characterized by a deep black that frames and highlights. To achieve the effect, you'll need this hard-to-find rich black solid.
