Good morning,

Yesterday when I went to get the mail I saw two robbins on the lawn so that's a sign spring is coming.
My chicken pot pie turned out good but a little bland so bill sprinkled a little salt and ate so for lunch will finish it.
Today we are having egg plant parm with spaghetti on the side I'm making my own sauce he will not eat anything else.
And the sauce that is left over will go in the freezer
For another time.
I have one load of wash that needs to be done so I will do that.
I'm going to cut out the rest of #3 be an elf then I can start sewing.
Judi I will say some extra prayers for your niece.
We can also use a couple of prayers.
Have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning,

And we're back! I saw the site was back up late yesterday, but was on my phone downstairs and Bill had the TV going so I decided to let it ride until this morning.

LORI - glad you have other ways of cooking. We also have back-up ways of cooking including our fifth-wheel in the back yard. I totally redid my kitchen in Nov of 1989. Refaced all my existing cabinets and had new ones (that I designed myself) installed along another wall, all new countertops, sink, floor and put in a big garden window. My kitchen was down for only 4 days. I kept all the appliances. I've pulled up your Brave again but it looks like a medallion quilt on point to me.

CHRISS - I love Goodwill finds like that. Most of my clothes come from Goodwill, too. You can't change Judy's habits. She can't change them either. I would put the dog treats out of sight when she is there. And maybe you could put some Judy treats in their place.

LYN - I have two neck pillows that Chickie gave me years ago, made by her mother. I still use them! The secret is to not stuff them too firmly. The Lakeway campground, Sun Outdoors, used to be called La Hacienda. The year it was bought out and the name changed, we came home to find the only RV park here in G.H. had also been purchased by the same company and is now a Sun Outdoors park. We used to stay up near Georgetown at the Corps of Engineers park. Two different beautiful campgrounds (Cedar Breaks and Jim Hogg cg's) there. Autumn used to live on Lake Travis near The Oasis off Comanche Trail so it was only an hour commute but then she moved so much further south to Bee Cave that the drive became impractical to make so often so we gave up the Corps park and moved to Sun Outdoors. No one else will know where these places are (sorry, Ladies), but I know you do.

JANA - what is it that the cardiologist wants to do that he is putting off?? And what oral surgery does Mr. G need? I guess I'm not keeping up. On Thursday my DBIL, Al, just went through the same oral surgery you did last summer. It was 7 hours! They found a lot of infection even up into his sinuses which took more time. He doesn't remember most of it. Now he is home with his plastic teeth and has a post-op Mar 11. Not sure when he'll get his permanent teeth. This is expensive! They had to take out a loan.

MQ - when I do laundry I set the timer on my phone so I don't forget that I'm doing laundry. Otherwise, I will, for sure, find only one load done at the end of the day! Drew's "quilt" is only a small vertical wall hanging about 10x20 inches. I'm thinking of framing it.

LOIS - a big shopping trip can be exhausting by the time you get it all home, hauled into the house, washed, packaged for freezer, and put away. I want to sit after that, too! Have you been able to set up the shuttle service for dialysis yet? I bet the snow caused quite a disruption.

JUDI - Enjoy your Judi day! My Bill would love to be going to the gun show with your menfolk. Did you check your purse for those needles? And jacket pockets? When I buy something that small, that's where I put them. And find them months later. Will offer some prayers for your niece. Is she located close to you?

FLO - I hope you get lots of blackberries from your vines. Will you make jam? Freeze them? I remember Chickie always made pie filling (though mostly apples) and canned the filling. And she keeps homemade pie dough in the freezer so she can make a pie with little notice.

Yesterday I did make Drew's Japanese Lantern wall hanging. It has two columns of five 3" lanterns. There was no pattern so I improvised. I hand embroidered the hanging loop and the tassels. I kind of messed up the corners, so today I'll frog those and redo them. It finished at 10x25. Then I'll be off to Michael's to look for a frame. I may have to add a narrow border to fit the frame. We'll see what I find. I just hope, after 5 months of working 12 hour days 7 days a week, he won't want to toss any memento of his time in Japan out the window!

The weather is going to be nice today so I may try to do a little work in the yard. Operative word is "may". My roses need pruning and feeding. Supper tonite is up in the air. I've got some leftover pizza sauce if it hasn't grown green hair by now, or I might make bean/bacon soup.

Wishing all a wonderful weekend.

Good morning!

Yes, Maryz, that dental procedure is expensive! The way it works is you get the plastic teeth, temporary ones and then it's three months with those, then another set that are still temporary for about a month, then your final permanent after that. Mr G needs some back teeth removed. With the stent surgery, the cardiologist wants because of clotting possibility at the stent site. That could block the stent and cause major problems. So we wait until May. Our oral surgeon is taking all the precautions.

Beautiful day here. 60's and more! Ethan didn't make it yesterday to weed, so he'll be down after he's done at his house.

Love my new dishwashers! They are so quiet! That's a good thing in a open architecture house, which mine is.

Not much else here. S9 off I scoot to find trouble,

Hugs, and prayers,
Jana

Looks like a nice day here. Is anyone going outside just after sunset to see the planets lined up on the western horizon?

Chriss, I was going to suggest a photo of Moose and "Moose Only" sign on the treats, but in 'the moment' she may not comprehend it anyway. Got a Folgers coffee can you could hide them in?

Thursday when I touched Garry's shoulder and said Hi, he opened his eyes, looked at me and clearly said, GET Me out of here. Then closed his eyes. I again explained that I cannot bring him home.

Yesterday I picked up Carol and we went to Cabela's so I could look at Gun Safes. I have lots of Cabela points that will cover the cost. Clerk told me to wait until next week when there's a customer appreciation event and I can get 15% off. We shopped and I picked up a couple new shirts and wrap around sunglasses for my new glasses. Then we had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, wish they wouldn't make the salsa so spicy hot, I'm a wuss and prefer mild. Found a QS, B & B Quilting. I bought some Hot Air Balloon fabric that had just been marked down and a beautiful panel with Bluebonnets in a field and old windmill and silo in the background. Last stop was HL. I need flannel for receiving blankets for 2 great grands nephew/niece, one is a boy and the other a surprise. I picked out 3, bypassing a woodland animals that I thought was bland. Last night I text my great niece, who is having the surprise, and asked about decor. She said they had just changed and going with woodland animals because it's gender neutral. LOL I guess I will order or stop at HL next week when I buy the safe.

Time to get moving. Prayers for your needs.

Good morning Girls

Sure was nice to log in this morning and see that we are back online. My day just feels a little off when I can't get signed in.

Judi.... Tell me it isn't so...you have a stash of specialty rulers? I love rulers and templates! I have almost all of the MQS templates and several different angle rulers that I have no idea what to do with! Back in 2000, I bought a collection of fabric and supplies from a guy who had lost his quilter wife to breast cancer, they are marked with her initials. I keep thinking I'm going to figure out how to use them one day. Prayers continue for your niece.

Flo.. A little rain after all that transplanting.... sure would be better than the 3" of snow we are supposed to be getting today!

Lois... NUM, Chicken pot pie!! Gosh I haven't made that in years! My Dad used to make the best pot pie with a thick layer of Bisquit on top! Come to think of it, I might have some mini pot pies Kris made me a while back---hmmm when was that? I do think of Bill often when I'm saying my prayers at night.

Maryz... My dryer plays this little tune when it's done... the problem is, I ignore it and then forget to go get the last load out. Framing that little wall hanging is a great idea!! I'm sure Drew will love it. Color me a little jealous that you can play outside today, and so looking forward to being able to put my lawn chairs out on the patio ago--which likely won't happen until the end of March at the earliest.

Jana,.... Having been without a dishwasher for almost 6 months... I feel you pain and your joy at getting new ones!!! You must have a lot of dishes if you have 2 dishwashers!! I used to think, in my next life, that I'd have two washers and dryers as it seemed like I was always doing laundry--- either that or have less kids!!

Chriss... Oh man you have those wonderful fruit trees right there in your yard and the squirrels get to them first!!! I suppose you've tried just about everything to keep them away. My Dad would get so mad a the squirrels getting to his bird feeders, he designed one, that as soon as the squirrel stood on the edge, the edge fell away because the squirrel was heavier than a bird sitting on the edge. I'm guessing you'd have to put some kind of chicken wire all the way around the tree.

Lori..... Ok new appliances... Inquiring minds want to know!! What new appliances did you get? How exciting tho to get all remodeled and freshened up. Just getting the new countertops and sink here in my kitchen sure brightened my days!

Speaking of kitchens, I better go clean up mine a little. I did finish a small version of the MSQ Irish Change yesterday and if it were warm in the garage, I'd go out and find backing for it. But alas, it's still stinkin' cold here. Not sure what trouble I'll get into today. I really need to quilt the Dinosaur quilt, but my Janome is still in shop, and I have a feeling I won't get it back in time to quilt it before the baby shower next Sunday! SO, niece might get the top only with a promise to quilt and send to her later.

With that... I'm going to go dry my hair, and grab some coffee and tackle that messy kitchen!

Wishing you all a Super Saturday... with prayers for all!

Good morning. Here we go again, another marvelously beautiful day. I opened up the windows at 6:30 when I woke up and it's now 62 degrees outside.

So much for my plans yesterday, I got a lot done but still have a lengthy todo list. I will tackle it today. Next week will be busy, my only free day is Tuesday.

The parents showed up yesterday afternoon. Dad had a uhaul trailer and took my riding mower. Seems when he was changing tires he noticed something needing fixing. So he will fix it. We really had a time loading that tractor because it wouldn't start. Dad is all about levers and how using them gets the job done. He says it's how they built the pyramids, levers, if you'd like I can repeat the entire lesson but you'd need an overhead projector and a pointer. I love my dad, he is the most patient person I know. We had to take apart the come along he had and unstick it. An hour-long job turned into a few hours, but they always do.

Lori, we are also having the hot days and cool evenings. 70's one day 60's the next. Spring is here, and it's gone, and it's back, oops, it's gone. Yay for getting those appliances picked out. What fun to get a new kitchen, I'm excited for you. MMMMM, lemon bars.

Judi, I have a baggie full of packages of hand needles, do you think I can find one that works how I want it? NO. so I buy more. Prayers for your niece. Mmmm, pancakes.

Lois, I saw a Robin yesterday too. I think we should kick the groundhog to the curb and base spring on the Robin. We've also had lots of Canadian geese fly over, they are noisy and can't just fly quietly. Sorry the chicken pot pie was bland, but you will perfect that recipe and it will be sooooooo good. Prayers have been said for Bill and you.

Maryz, I will also do some outside work. Since dad took the lawn tractor I can vac the cobwebs and clean up it's parking space. Might as well just tackle the entire garage. I also get my tops at thrift stores. I also often donate them back.

Jana, I was amazed when my cardio surgeon told me that oral health is related to heart health. Hope all goes smoothly for Michael's heart/teeth adventure. Yay for new dishwashers, glad you love them.

Maryq, There is chicken wire around the root of the trees but that is for the gophers. The squirrels just hop on and eat fruit. But there has been an orange cat hanging around, it is Ferrel and I'm hoping it dines on squirrel. Fingers crossed. My garden is in a cage because of those stinkin' squirrels. Hope you get your machine back really soon

Lyn, Jerry once asked me, when in the facility, if it is where people go to die. It's hard when they say some things, like get me out of here, or is this where people go to die. But you and I know that they were and are in the best place for them. The day before Jerry died he told me to go home, that I didn't need to be there. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as you pass up the woodland animals they want animals.

I have a MRI tomorrow on my head to address the meningioma, I will tackle that first then work on the adrenal gland. I've had scans from my thighs up to the top of my head when they found my heart issue so now it's time to fix what needs fixing.

I have a list of outside things to do today. sweeping is the biggest chore. I will also spray week killer down the center of the driveway and if I feel adventurous, I will do the same between the road and my fence. But first, as always, breakfast.

Dinner tonight will be the meatloaf I wanted to have last night. I make a big batch of meatloaf and freeze it in smaller portions, this is the last one that I have, perhaps I will just put it in the oven now and it can cook while I do some inside stuff.

You girls have a fab day

It was a hot one yesterday. We hit 95. Today we are cooling off to 87 and then down again tomorrow. This is ridiculous weather.

Chriss, nothing ever takes the amount of time you think it's going to. I learned to estimate and add 2 hours. And that might still be wrong. Glad your dad is able to fix the mower. Hope everything goes well with the MRI tomorrow.

Maryq, stove top, hood, oven, microwave, fridge, sink, and faucets. We have an RO so we wanted matching faucets. They are really pretty from Italy. Also stone counter tops and back splash, replacing the garden window and cabinets are being painted. It's going to be pretty when it's finished.

Lyn, that's hard to hear when you know you can't take care of them on your own. Good thing you can go back and get the fabric. At least you found out before you made it.

Jana, our dishwasher is so quiet we kept opening it to see if it was running.

Maryz, the quilt pattern could be used for a medallion pattern. We did our kitchen in 98 and it's ready for an update. Jonathan worked those hours when he was in Afghanistan, and Bill said he did the same when he was at sea in the Navy. There's really not much else to do anyway.

Lois, we bypassed spring and went right to summer. I did hear the birds singing this morning though.

We spent a few hours cleaning everything up on our patio yesterday. I also got more things packed out of the kitchen and even pitched a bunch of stemware that I never use. It was taking up 2 shelves. I inherited it from my great aunt 35 years ago. I have a new fridge being delivered on Monday to the house up the street, so I'll take food we need up there. How do I have so much stuff. Don't know what's for dinner tonight, but I'm sure we won't starve.

Have a lovely day.

Thank you for the prayers for my niece she is still in ICU and now has an infection in her abdomen..I am not sure what that is about...they did draw fluid and found infection. Her blood pressure is low and her kidneys arent working well. She appears to be a candidate for a liver tranplant but they wont put her into the list unless she is in an alcohol treatment program/// She was a drinker hope that is done with...
My Judi day turned to nope Ken said the parking lot was full and they couldnt even get in to park so they came home. i did go to hobby lobby and bought 2 storage jars for my pantry and before I left, I found the needles that I couldnt find so I just wandered around the store looking for stuff I liked but didnt need...I was a little disappointed in the stuff they had out...Not much St patricks day and a ton of easter but I dont need a million plastic eggs and bunnies. so I stopped at the dairy for milk and came home to fine Ken home and disappointed,,,but it is what it is,,,I tried to find something for us to do but nothing came up so I will continue to sew and Ken said he will go get subs for supper....not bad!!!1
