Good morning,
VELDA, good to see you back. and I hope you make more visits to us.
LORI, I like your jelly twist pattern.
CHRISS, don't knock sleeping a little longer in the mornings. I'm sure they told you that with any major surgery, but especially heart surgery, it can take up to a year to regain your former level of physical strength. Listen to your body. And let it sleep as long as it wants. Healing takes place during sleep and we learned in nursing school that with major surgery there are also a mental and emotional factors involved. They need to heal, too. But patient. Be good to yourself.
Mary Q - another good pork chop recipe - brown the chops and some onions and garlic. Place over sliced potatoes in a baking dish and top with a can of cream soup mixed with a half can of milk. Cover and bake.
KATY, there you are! glad you found us! I guess the moral of the story is to post early, post often!
LYN, your life has taken a serious left turn. Every day is going to be different. You are rolling with the punches better than most people could. Don't be too hard on yourself. Just savor the good moments and enjoy that glass of wine at the end of the day, no matter what your day has brought you.
JANA - we almost always buy ourselves, or receive as a gift, a nice calendar with pretty pictures of places, things, we enjoy. Not so this year. All we have is the free one from Ace. So Bill ordered us one yesterday. He didn't consult me, but I think it's just the months, no pictures, but big white spaces to write. Our calendar days seem to be overfull this past year.
FLO, Chriss had a good idea to add hooks & eyes to your dress to secure the opening. I'm afraid if you try to remove the snaps to make button holes it will ruin the fabric. Those snaps, if put in securely, don't like to give up! Hope your machine is fixed quickly.
JUDI - You're making progress on your Take Down, I see. I forgot to take down a few wall hangings I have up. So might get to that today. And then put out the different quilts. Are you and Ken planning a Feb getaway at all this year or waiting until the wedding in July? Nice to have a visit with your DDIL. Glad the boys enjoy the games even when they don't win.
LOIS, you had quite a to-do list made for yourself yesterday. Did you get it all done? I got very little done myself.
So my steroid pack isn't working as well as I had hoped. Still having severe sciatic-like pain, much worse at night. Can't sleep. I have an ultra sound this morning of my leg. I tried to sew part of a dinosaur to try to distract myself. I had a few problems with it, of course, but finally got it made - only to discover it was a unit that I'd already made several days ago! I shut the machine down and went out to the living room to read. Sigh. The hip recovery is a snap compared to this. I am almost completely off the walker now though. I use it at the Y to "run my laps" but that's mostly it. And speaking of running my laps - That little old lady with the 4-wheeled walker and who is toting an oxygen tank with her, and passed me up three times on one lap when I first started? Well, yesterday she only passed me once! Progress! I do the 1/9 mile lap in 5 minutes now. After that, the leg feels a bit better for the day. Supper will be leftover Costco lasagna.
hugs around!

Morning
The snaps I used were sew on, so easily removed. I also want to adjust the seams. I went generous on seams, but I want a bit more room for comfort.
Baby at repair shop. They said about a week. Just deep cleaning and timing., but they will call if they find something else.
Yesterday was busy. Lots of errands, they all got done but we forgot to stop for lunch. I had stew in crockpot, so as soon as we emptied truck we were able to eat.
Today is about laundry and going to take time to clean sewing room. A lot of dust elephants in there.
Lyn, you have my number, call anytime you need to talk or just laugh.

Good morning,
Today starts Dr appointments.
Yesterday I did get the tree down and washed 2 loads of clothes then went to the store for stuff we were out of bill doesn't go in with me so I go in with a list and that's it.
So when we get back from the doctors I'm going to try and start bulldozing this house.
I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Ps it was nice to see velda and katy post now maybe we should try and see what we can do about Suzette getting back on here.

The bird feeders were full and the birds soon will be.
Im sorry I am confusing people.
The 50amp plug/outlet had a loose wire inside the main electric panel, which is outside.
The MH is just fine, it has no problem.
I bought the same washing machine as Chriss.
My dryer still works, so I did not buy a dryer.
Yesterday our friends surprised us with late Christmas gifts. They are T shirts with a printed pocket and a Min Pin coming out of the pocket. The staff will put Garry's on him today and I will wear mine, hopefully we can get a photo. Garry slept through the visit.
Washing machine is programmed to use 'deep water' when it is set on 'Towels'. I washed sheets on that setting last night.
It's good to see Katy and Velda posting.
Hope everyone has a good day. Prayers for your needs.

Re: Tuesday January 6th, 2026
Good morning ladies
I am glad to be back. I have been busy trying to get things done. Back in November I discovered mice had been in my defrost system in my car. Needless to say I took it in to chevy garage in canton. Six weeks later and $7400 the car is back on the road. Thank goodness the insurance paid for everything but my rental at $40 a day . Well I got a surprise when I went to pickup my car I did not have to pay rental. I did not ask questions just got my fanny out of there.
I did discover one thing I need a suv for winter. While my car was in garage we got 12 inches of snow. The small suv loaner took me right through it all. Well thats my story about my car.
I also got 6 new windows put in. I love them. Also my sister and I painted one wall in the living room blue. And I got new lamps for in here.
I have a very long list of things that need to be done. But will do one thing at a time.
Lois I assume by bulldozing you mean clean your house.LOL I could use your help. I just cant seem to get anything done. Need someone to kick me in the fanny.
Flo I too need my machine cleaned. I am still looking for a new machine. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Velda Glad I could help. I do not understand why they have that email if we have to call to get it fixed.
Judi I still have my tree up. Was supposed to come down Sunday. Unfortunately I woke up with a crick in my neck cannot turn my head either way. I have most of the other stuff down. Hopefully my sister will come over and help me.
Maryz Thanks for your help. i spent weeks emailing them. O sorry your steroids are not working. Pain is a big pain in the fanny. Hope you get to feeling better fast.
Oh I didnt tell you about the garage. My sister told me about someone you hire to clean it out. Hes known as THAT GUY. My sister and I spent 5 hours piling and going through stuff. We found mega number of mouse nest. I also wanted to get rid of DJ equipment that was stored in there. After piled up everything I no longer wanted He came and took it all away for $4oo. And I mean he had a load.
One side of garage is really clean the other has tools and garden equipment in it. I will go through that mess this spring.
Well ladies I need to go sew i am really behind. And another cup of Java would help. LOl
You all have a great day and stay out of trouble..

Good morning!
Up early and got Mr G out and ready for a Dr appointment. It takes me awhile to get him going, so I plan plenty of time. Sarah takes him, so she hears what is said.
So I have a bit of laundry going, straightened my closet and ready to change bedding. That takes me awhile to strip the bed and remake. I have been putting away Christmas too. Gathered all the quilts, pillows, wall hangings, stockings, and table runners. I have a large wooden sleigh that has it's own box for storage, but I fill up the sleigh's open space with all that stuff, before it goes in the storage box. Makes use of all that space. This sleigh is big enough for a child to sit in! Gracie at 11 fits!
My pattern arrived for the baby quilt, so I can dive in on that.
Not much else,
Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls
Late again.... I think my bio-rhythm is changing! I find myself staying up later at night for "just one more chapter" then sleeping later in the morning. I kind of don't feel too bad about it, as I'm awake several times in the night. So as I'm looking at the clock here it's 10:30 -- I am showered and dressed tho--that's a good thing right? I was going to go out today, but we had freezing rain and my driveway is literally a sheet of ice. That gal I was going to go see, tells me parking lots are awful slippery. At my age, I don't bounce when I fall and I'm not wanting to end up with a broken hip!
Since it's so late, I won't chat with you all this morning as I'm anxious to get busy working on the variety of projects in my sewing room. I did manage to put the Jolly Bar pattern together yesterday, but since I didn't read the directions very well, I had to take some of it apart! So, I'll have to kind of re-tool it and see what happens.
I'll see you all tomorrow

Maryq, I've made several Jolly Bar patterns. They are usually quick and easy. Hope the mistake wasn't too bad.
Jana, I too have the sheets in the wash today. Then some other laundry as well. I can't believe Gracie is 11.
Katy, oh bummer about the mice. Hopefully you can take back your space. When we had the house in Illinois, we got mice in the garage because Bill's dad kept the dog food out there in a bag. I set out traps and was able to catch them all. Then we bought a container for the food.
Lyn, Your shirts sound fun.
Lois, hope you get everything done today and can relax.
Velda, good to see you again. I bet being president of the HOA is a lot of work.
Flo, I sure hope they can fix your machine.
Maryz, sleeping seems to be the worst time for me as well. Sorry you are having so much pain. Hopefully they'll figure out something to help.
Judi, if 32 is warming, I think I'd move. We're warming to 63 today and in the low 70's this weekend. Winter has just begun and I'm already over it.
We'll I haven't heard back from the doctors office about an appointment, so I'll have to call today. Like Maryz, this not sleeping at night because of pain sucks. It makes for a really long day.
Bill is off golfing this morning. First time in over a month. I bet it's still pretty muddy on the course, but I think he wanted to get out of the house and hang with his friends. I have laundry and errands to do today.
Then I might finish cutting out the Twisty pattern. I didn't read it correctly and cut some pieces to small. I guess I should pay better attention to details.
Have a lovely day.

Hi everyone. You all make me feel so welcomed. Thank you for that.
I baked banana bread this morning. Even though I am diabetic, banana bread seems to agree with me. Of course, as they say: Portion Control is the key.
I have been busy putting a quilt top together for church. Someone had donated 4 1/2" blocks. I made a bunch of 4 patches. Then I needed to go back to our church project room to look for another fabric to go with these colors. Well, silly me, I forgot to set my. Machine to 1/4" seam and ended up with a stack sewn with 3/8" seams. I was so mad at myself. I hate to unsew, so I am adding 2 1/2" to these next to rows to compensate. Looks ok, and my husband said, the needy people will just be glad to have the quilt!
He is right, so I guess I will forgive myself and try not to do THAT again!
Well I need to get back to my project. Have a great day!
