Good morning,
This is a drive by we are making a BJ's run then to the regular store I'm out of stuff and I need to replenish stuff before my coupons go away.
So that's where I will be if anyone needs me.
I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Morning Lois and all to follow,
Lois you are braver than I am, I'm not going to any store except Dollar General.
New fur baby adapting. SJ starting to sgare his couches treats & mommy. They have even played together in yard a few times, And once SJ instigated the play time.
Temps here hitting low points where once rain eases today, I have to drain hoses and put them away.
Joe still working on kids van.
Stay warm

Good morning,
I didn't wake up until 5am this morning. Yay! However, I was awake from 12 to 3am, so not a lot of gain in sleeping time. I hope my nights straighten out after this surgery is all said and done.
JANA - did Mr. G enjoy all the family hoopla on TG? I love big family gatherings but they can be tiring. But a good tiring! Hope the bandage changing went OK for you both.
JUDI - we only had a turkey breast for dinner but it had been brined (or so the packaging said) and it was really tender, juicy, and delicious. And with wine and conversation flowing, it was in the oven longer than it should have been - was 210* when we took it out of the oven to let it rest, Best turkey ever! Did you get the last of your presents bought?
MARY Q - its show and tell time!
LYN - Those are some good signs for Garry! Pray they continue. Glad you have your mail secure. 'Tis the season for porch pirates! Being a fellow traveler, mail can be a concern. I'm glad you like Kaylyn's new "young man". (don't I sound old!) How long has she known him?
LORI sorry about the line dancing classes being cancelled but I hope the teacher will be OK. I'll pm you my e-mail addy. And go check out your photo! Thanks for posting it!
DIANE - well? Did you give in and go shopping at your LQS? I might stop by our tiny shop today just to support small business shopping day. I need nothing, but they do - my business. They are two young sisters who moved here from the same locale in Texas where we go. They know all the same roads and places we go. And their shop is on what used to be my aunt & uncle's property which is less than a mile from my house. How can I not go??
LOIS - those must have been fun times when you got together with your sisters, shopped, and then had breakfast/brunch! I love going out with my two sisters. They don't sew, though. They thrift shop so we do that instead which is just as much fun. Otherwise, it's the same scenario! Hope you can make quick work of your BJ run today.
FLO - glad the 'kids' are getting along. I hope the van is fixed soon. I see temps are dropping everywhere across the nation. We'll even see a few upper 30's here for lows, mid 40's for highs. I'm not into post-TG shopping either, but I do plan to stop into our little LQS just to say hi and buy something to support them. They are SOO nice in there.
We had our TG yesterday so I was busy all day long. Our dinner turned out delicious and all ready at the same time. What a surprising fluke that was!! Lee cooked asparagus on the Blackstone grill. Lara had pre-seasoned it with something (?) and they topped it with parmesan cheese. Yum! Everyone seemed quite content post meal.
We sat in front of the fire, relaxed, and visited some more over glasses of port.
Today - we need to run a few errands, and mail a few Christmas packages - mostly the special ornaments I bought the other day and a box of candy to my DSIL, Barb, my brother, Albert's widow. She recently moved to assisted living and isn't doing well mentally. But she loves candy! We'll break down the dining table and I'll cover it with a plastic table cloth and set some of my painting project back up. Once I got it out of the box it sort of exploded and now is filling up my entire cutting table in my sewing room. I'll finish what I can before I have to pack it back up again. I'm hoping Bill will finish quilting my KTVC before my surgery. He made two passes about 10 days ago and then got distracted. I have binding ready to go. Will make the label today. Supper tonite is going to be pretty much what the rest of the nation has been having - turkey dinner leftovers!
Happy Saturday to you all!

Happy Saturday!
Internet took a break yesterday. I thought it was QIAD but then realized I couldn't get on my local quilt shop site either.
DH is doing much better. Certain movements are still painful and he limps a bit but either wise he is ok.
Lyn good news about Garry. Company is always nice in these situations. Sounds like you have some very caring staff also.
Lori I don't shop on good Friday either. I'll pay full price if I have to before I go out in that mess.
Lois wow 14 yards! Now I know where DH learned to fabric shop.
Maryq I have been watching YouTube also trying to figure out how I can use up all this fabric. Lots of ideas but so far haven't used any of those ideas.
Maryz no migraine. Probably cause by bending my head forward so much hand sewing binding. I really wish I could make it look nice on the machine. It is gone for now.
I have got my sewing rooms somewhat clean. Still working on binding but trying to remember to take breaks.
Oh I heard from Tony. Says he has gained some weight. He is now 156. Ok 1# is better than none. He has an appointment Tuesday with Medical Oncologist. He went to a friend's house for Thanksgiving. Then they went to see a movie. It's about a female boxers life who struggles with a violent marriage and multiple other things. He if course just happens to know her so he wanted to see it.
Well I am off to vacuum the sewing areas. Have a great day.

Re: Saturday November 29,2025
Good morning!
Burr cold here. Below freezing! The they are saying snow actually on me. We'll see....
Karlie and Daniel will be here today. He'll bring up all my Christmas and Karlie and I will decorate. I have been planning where things will go, especially with my new shelves. Sarah is making Karlie a birthday cake. Requested, chocolate cake with chocolate filling and chocolate frosting. Guess who likes chocolate?
So no sewing for me today. Checked and found my music for tomorrow. We are singing our first Christmas hymn ! Oh, Come, All ye Faithful. Christmas hymns now, until January! We have a couple of New Year's hymns too.
I did my nurse duties well yesterday. The incision site didn't bleed at all. A good thing! The opening in the wrist was only about the size of the head on our yellow quilting pins. His arm is achy, but Tylenol helps that. Then I got the blood sugar monitor changed as well. All set now. A follow-up is scheduled for January 6th. Nice to have no Dr appointments until then! We have been going once or twice a week, to this or that Dr. PT will get scheduled shortly.
I'm off to make a batch of snickerdoodle muffins for breakfast. I'm looking so forward to cranberry muffins and bread! They have pecans, which are off limits for awhile more. It's my mom's and aunt's recipe that we've been making since 1965! Has orange juice in it. My job, when I was little, was to cut the fresh cranberries in half on the equator. I was taught to be very precise in my cutting! I still cut my cranberries in half! My recipe is written in my Aunt's handwriting and I still use it now. I should laminate those old recipe cards that I use. I have divinity, cranberry nut bread and fudge recipes all written on 3x5 cards in my mom's handwriting. Many others too.
Hugs,
Jana

Re: Saturday November 29,2025
Good Morning All
Well, for sure I'm not going any place today!!! It's snowing here and I've heard we are getting between 6-9", but it could be more... it could be less!!! My only worry is the kids driving home from Wisconsin (about 150 miles south of me) where it is much much much worse and already the roads are bad and down to one lane of traffic. I've tried begging Shawn to wait until tomorrow, but he says they will be ok. I have a lump in the pit of my stomach and will be praying to St. Christopher all day!!! Thank god for traffic cameras all along their route, I can check road conditions!! Man I wish they would wait until tomorrow!!!
Lois... Can I give my list for the grocery store!!!
Flo... Probably takes a little while for the puppies to adjust to each other. Are you going to beagle puppies?
Maryz... OF COURSE you have to go the little quilt store!!! I'm sure you will find some little thing or piece of fabric you can't live without. You want kitchen pictures? Ok I'll post them!!
Valerie... Glad to hear DH is doing better--grateful he didn't break anything. Is he able to take some time off from work or is he still going to the park every day? I finished a top from one of the tutorial I watched... it turned out ok. Not a pattern I'll do again, tho it was very easy.
Lyn... Glad to hear some good news of Garry! Any test you can pass---is a good thing. How fun to have Kaylyn around--and with a new beau!
Chriss.... What on your agenda for today? How is Dad's leg? I'm guessing it's pretty hard to get him to sit for any length of time to get his leg up. Have you thought about putting a pile of rocks on his lap so he can't move?
Lori... Have you found any more interesting things in your folks boxes?
Well, it's definitely chore day here. I've put off washing kitchen floor until all the construction work was done--it's done! Laundry has started and music is playing. All I need is more coffee and I'll be ready to "DO THIS!" Need to keep self busy so I'm not a worry monster all day! But if you have an extra prayer please send one for safe travels for kids. Shawn and Bren are driving his little pickup truck and Kris & Evie are in Kris's Jeep (with 4 wheel drive--which helps)
I'll go post some pictures of the kitchen
Have a great day every one!

Re: Saturday November 29,2025
Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful day today.
Yesterday I went with a couple of friends to the craft fair in Sonora. It's really the same old stuff and I didn't find anything I wanted. We had lunch in Jamestown. It was a fun day. I like to drive to Sonora because there isn't much traffic. Sonora and Tioga pass are closed because of snow and that means people have to travel a different route to Yosemite or Nevada. I like when people aren't on my road.
Today I will get some things done around here then take some ham, mashed potatoes and broccoli and have a meal with the parents. It's a decent sized ham for only three people so I might just make them some ham and egg burritos for their breakfast tomorrow. The parents are a big fan of heat and eat meals that they don't have to prepare.
Judi, I used to love the day after Christmas shopping. Hobby Lobby has nice thick wrapping paper and It, along with scotch tape, is what I would stock up on. Funny, when Marilyn was little we never could find tape. When I was cleaning out this house I found at least 5 partial things of tape. I took a picture and sent it to her.
Maryz, are you sure we aren't related? The guilt trip you gave me was equivalent to the ones given to me by family members over the years. Made me chuckle. The friend I went with to the craft fair yesterday is also a retired RN and also told me to keep going to cardio rehab because they monitor my heart and send the results to my doctor, besides my insurance is paying for it. So, I'll keep going. You RN types are tough.
Maryq, I'm so glad you love that sink. Funny how something as simple as a sink can bring so much happiness, especially when surrounded by beautiful counter tops. Our water is very hard too. I have replaced more shower heads over the years. I try poking all the holes and sticking them in vinegar with baking soda, they clog from the inside. So, we did kitchens this year, what are we doing next year? I'm thinking windows. Just saw your kitchen pictures. gorgeous!
Lyn, glad Kaylyn has a nice young man in her life, sweet of him to bring you flowers. And high five to Garry for passing the swallow test and moving on up on the ladder to getting better. wait, maybe he should use an escalator instead of a ladder.
I guess I need to actually get up and start in if anything is to be done here. Breakfast first, you all have a super day.

Chriss, sounds like a fun day even if you didn't find anything you wanted. Meals ready to heat up are the best.
Judi, you can clean the house another day. Glad you chose the hockey game.
Maryq, hope the kids got home okay. No I haven't gone though any boxes this week. I've been busy with other things.
Jana, muffins sound yummy. Cranberry orange bread is my favorite. My moms recipe is dated 1959.
Valerie, sounds like Tony is headed in the right direction. Hope he continues to improve.
Maryz, being up in the middle of the night is maddening. I sent you the rest of the pattern this morning. I was surprised when I found it had 5 different designs. I guess it's been a while since I kitted it up. I might do another one. They are really cute. Glad you had a good TG .
I started working on another gift. This one will be for my sister's birthday on the 18 of December. Still plugging along on the puzzle. With only 3 colors it's hard to find the pieces. Dinner will be chicken and fried rice.
Have a lovely evening.
