I'm back, taking a rest. Most of the chores are done except putting clean sheet on the bed. I'm almost done kitting up my (Lori's) mittens, and I might be able to paint a little today before I put it all away so we can use the table.

JANA - A gate at the top of the stairs is a wonderful idea! How long until it can be actually put into place? I think we ALL know about Weebles! I know my kids had them, too. And now that jingle is stuck in my head. Thank you, ladies!!

LORI - that's an interesting site! I remember when you toured all over the Sisters area. Such a pretty place! I like cranberry orange bread. I also have a recipe for it. I always like to spice up my holiday breads with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. I also texted with Tina and Chickie this morning. Tina is so busy working to pay off the extra bills they incurred while Jazmyne was living with them. She is tired. They are doing their family TG tomorrow, she said. Chickie is still sewing for the great-littles and making table toppers for all the grown up ladies in their family. She now has trigger thumbs from doing so much quilting.

JUDI = glad you got a bit of an extra snooze. I woke up at 1:30 and that was it! I finally got up about 2 and moved upstairs and read, hoping I would nod off. Nope. I wouldn't mind some peach cobbler? Are you using canned peaches? I haven't seen any fresh ones for quite a while now.

FLO - I'm confident the dogs will be best friend by Christmas. And yes - if girls cook, boys clean. It's a rule.

MARY Q - given your weather I'm sure glad you didn't try for WI! You forgot to run your new dishwasher? Have you run it at all yet? Our instructions, when we got our new one 3 yrs ago, said to run it empty with soap the first time to "wash" it before putting your dishes in. Also, it's a good check for leaks.

DIANE - nice to have your family close by. All my family has either died or moved away. And Lara will be gone come January. Sorry you lost your post. Don't forget - you often have to hit "submit" 2, 3, or even 4 times.

Well, it's time to finally hit the shower. Then I'll start prepping food for tomorrow and round up my serving dishes. After that, gather up the rest of my mitten project, and then settle down to paint some Nativity figures. In all, I have about 23 figures in two sets plus a couple strays I've picked up here and there that match the big set. Never hurts to have spares in case of breakage.

Wishing everyone the very best of the day!
Only 24 days - that's 3-1/2 weeks - until the days start lengthening again!

Good morning. It's almost time for the feast and today I will eat all the carbs. It's going to be a great day.

Dad had PT yesterday and is getting around much better, he and Judy will go out to eat because she likes to go out. I will go with some friends to a TG buffet.

I've taken this week off of Cardio rehab. I only have 6 sessions left and might just quit. We will see.

Lyn, you have so much to be thankful for today. I can only imagine your surprise at seeing Garry eating and wide awake. I pray that this is the beginning of him getting back to his old self. Kaylyn will be good company. She must really love you two to be right there for you and with you during this. My great grandma had a row of percaline cups and saucers on her kitchen windowsill. each had a violet in them. great memory

Lois, it will be nice to have a quiet holiday. I also like the dark meat, I've even thought I might just buy thighs and legs and cook them instead of a breast. I'll see what is on sale after TG is over.

Tina, I love your attitude, it always makes me smile when I see your post.

Maryz, Jerry used to make a pumpkin pie especially for Gloria, my DIL, each TG. After he passed, I found out she was just being nice and didn't like pumpkin pie, she likes berry pies. Like Bill, I prefer apple and would like mine to be a crisp with vanilla ice cream. Looking forward to seeing your mittens. Jerry called it fried mush too. I never had it fried. Sorry the HH tacos weren't a great choice.

Flo, it's always touchy when a new sibling comes home. the dogs will adjust as soon as they figure out neither is going anywhere.

Diane, sounds like a perfect group for dinner. Enjoy.

Jana, so glad Mr.G is home and doing well. Nice that he can rest until dinner time. I'm not really a parade watcher, I've seen a lot of them on tv but I have never been a fan of a parade. There was a news story on yesterday where a classroom somewhere, I don't know where, the kids had their own balloon parade. They made things out of balloons, or bought helium balloons in different shapes. It was cute.

Maryq, I'm going to a brunch today with some friends. My son is going to his wife's stepmom's house, my parents are going out to dinner. Use that sink girl. I wipe mine dry after using it to do dishes. I bought some stainless spray cleaner by bar keepers friend but haven't used it yet. I really hope you love your kitchen as much as I love mine. Enjoy your you time and your refrigerator pot luck.

Judi, thanks for the update on Kathy and Chrissy (I was called Chrissy when I was young and have a sister Kathy) Jerry used to make some amazing cranberry sauce, it had oranges, walnuts and red jello. It also had a ton of sugar. I bet yours is amazing too.

Lori, 80*? dang. We are at 47 outside now and should only see 55. Give the boys an ear fluff from me and Moose.

I need to leave in an hour and a half. That means that the dishes need doing, Moose needs walking and I need showering. Not in that order. Hoping MZ left me some hot water.

You all have a fabulous Thanksgiving. I appreciate all the support, prayers and love you have sent me over the past year. I am quite blessed.

Good afternoon and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Home this year for Thanksgiving. Turkey is in the oven. DH is limping along trying to be helpful. His friend and him are jamming on the guitars.

I am working some on binding but not as much as I would like. Been thinking I really gotta clean up my sewing rooms. I am also fighting a headache. Took some IBU so hoping that works.

Well I gotta go see what DH is doing in the kitchen.

Hope you all have a peaceful day. Happy Thanksgiving
