Wednesday Thanksgiving eve the 26th
Good morning I am up and dressed and hair combed, Grocery store opend at 6 but I dont go til it gets light out. I need to get a couple of things and then it will be a baking marathon here,,,Pies and bread and ken wants peanut butter cookies but he said he can wait til the weekend. He wants them dipped in chocolate so although I love a challenge I might not be able to get all that done today,
All the main decorating is done except the trees they will be brought up on friday,. One for the man cave and the big tree in the living room. The bar in the basement is finished and all the glassware that will go down there has been washed and put in the cabinets, I still have a few more glasses to wash and take down there,,but I did the holiday glasses first. With the addition of the adult beverages it actually looks like a bar,
I havent gotten any sewing done and the sewing room doesnt even have a tree, It becomes the staging area for gift wrapping and card writing andall other MISC holiday things....Maybe a little sewing but not much.
Hope you all have a great fun day, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Re: Wednesday Thanksgiving eve the 26th
Good morning,
I'm up and dressed had breakfast getting ready for my last day of PT
I went to the foot Dr yesterday he said everything looks good he squeezed all the ankle area and I didn't even flinch so he has me coming back in January and he will determine weather or not I have to go for more pt.
Today I will do some cleaning no company but that's great we were invited to Sandi house but we like to be home I have fear of the holiday roadway
Billy is going to Melissa's mother's to be supportive that's ok he does what he has to do.
Well it's that time I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Re: Wednesday Thanksgiving eve the 26th
Good morning,
I got some good sleep last night and feel so rested. I slept in my chair for an hour, went to bed at 8pm and didn't wake up until 5am. It feels so good to feel so good!
LOIS - so happy your foot is improving so much! PT can do wonderful things. And I'm with you - I don't like holiday traffic - especially NYE. And it's nice of Billy to spend the holiday with his MIL after her recent loss.
JUDI - you have been like a whirling dervish all week long, decorating, cleaning, decorating, cooking, decorating! I feel like your house is what Mrs. Claus's house must be like this time of year.

When you dip your cookies, do you just do a halfway dip, complete dip, or just frost? I never thought about dipping peanut butter cookies in chocolate, but it's a great idea! Now I may have to bake something today. Thanks a lot! Congrats to Ryker! He'll have to eat venison all year long now! Not MY thing either! Maybe his special ornament this year should be a blown glass deer. Though most of the deer ornaments are reindeer, as in Santa's reindeer. Maybe that's not such a good idea after all.
JANA - I'm happy that procedure is in the rearview mirror for Mr. G. and that they were able to, hopefully, fix his problem. I'm sure you've been stressed. Thank goodness you have good kids to help out when you need them! Are you done decorating yet? Will your Thanksgiving be able to go on as planned? I think you were all gathering at Sarah's?
CHRISS - good plan to divide the chores up through the week. Dentistry without novocaine because you don't like the pinch? No thanks!! Been there, done that (not by choice!!) at age 9 - and that's the source of my extreme fear of dentists. Pinch away, I say! Where is the wound on Dad's leg? Calf? Shin? Any idea what caused this? My BIL had similar infx from a sliver in his finger. It was EXTREMELY serious. He ended up in the hospital for 9 days and almost lost his hand. Dad needs to keep that wound clean and follow dr's orders as much as possible. I'm sure with Judi's needs though he has to be up a lot through the day. Taking meals to them is such a great help. What is Elliott doing for TG? He is probably in high demand. I invited my DGSs to join us (our TG feast will be Friday) but both are working that day. I wasn't too sorry. Like LOIS said - holiday traffic can be fearful. I've got long phone charging cord on my hospital list, thanks to you. Tigger says TTFN? I don't hang with the Winnie the Pooh crowd, so you gave me a bit of a riddle. And I thought and I thought.... ta ta for now?
FLO - I hope you had a happy birthday! Your new puppy was a great gift! Did the kids come over for supper or maybe you went out? I hope there was cake. I want everyone to have cake on their birthday.
MQ - how is it going? will the plumber be there today? Hard for everyone to be working in the same small space at the same time. I'm sure that binding will turn up. I usually drape mine over a slightly open cabinet door - in plain site but I still can't "see" it sometimes. I looked at your weather - BRRRRrrrr..... I hope you've got your woolies handy! You and JUDI both! My phone says you have a feels like temp of 2* with snow come Saturday. Better lay in the bread, peanut butter, coffee, and wine!
LORI - I rec'd the pattern yesterday. Thank you! I mean to text you but when we got back from dentist, kids came over, dinner was et, and I fell asleep! So thank you! Will you want it back when I am done with it? I am very good at returning loans. I think I will kit it up today. I am very curious to see your barn painting when it's done. Is it a barn or a barn block? I painted a block on 2'x2' piece of plywood and Bill put it on the house. The block I chose was called "Austin", my maiden name. It's a sawtooth star.
VAL - what project is forefront right now? I know you usually have several in progress. Nice that you are getting your sewing times in at the quilt shops again. I'm sure you missed them! Are you doing anything special for Thanksgiving?
LYN - if you check in here - we're all thinking of you and Garry! Hope you are getting some much needed rest.
If it were possible, there would be a place for you at our TG table.
Yesterday was a busy day for me - 3 appointments. But they were all easier than I'd anticipated. And my new baby dentist truly was painless. No pinch! And he's funny and chatty. I actually enjoyed the visit, except for, well, you know, - the reason I was there! However, they took my blood pressure and it was a bit high, which wasn't surprising. I'll take it again today and for a few more days. If it stays high, I'll msg my dr. Maybe she needs to up my Losartan. The last few months have been a bit stressful. Anyway, I was tuckered by end of day. Fell asleep in my chair at 7p, went to bed at 8p, and slept until 5a. Nice!
Today I have no appts, nothing Thanksgivingy to do. We are having 22 yards of gravel delivered for our driveway (a scant 1/10 mile long). We do this every 5 yrs or so. And boy, has the price of crushed rock gone up! Merry Christmas, Bill & Mary ! But since I don't have to spread the gravel myself, I will be kitting up the mitten project LORI sent to me. Maybe I'll bake choc-dipped peanut butter cookies, `ala JUDI. Maybe I'll give VAL's binding method a whirl. And maybe start painting some of the Nativity figures that are spread all over my table. And I have a few presents to wrap. Maybe I'll work on THAT while Bill is at the Y this morning. So now my empty day just got filled up!
Lee & Lara asked us to go to Mexican restaurant so no cooking tonite. Works for me!
Have a happy Thanksgiving Eve!

Re: Wednesday Thanksgiving eve the 26th
Good morning, quick drive by. DH fell 6ft off a ladder at work yesterday. We were in the ER until 10 last night. Nothing broken but he will be sore for several days. He is walking with a walker. Left hip hit the ground first so it's quite sore.
Maryz I am really pushing the pedal to get Cataleia's quilt done. I have the top and bottom borders and the back. I had to leave early yesterday due to DH or it would have been done.
Asking prayers for my longarmer. She is having bone marrow biopsy next week. They are looking for leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Her markers are all off. She did say for now she will quilt for her regular clients but is not taking on anyone new.
Gotta get, the click is ticking and I have to leave in 2 hours. Trying to get my chores done before I leave.
Have a great day and I will post a picture of Cataleia's quilt once it's done.

Re: Wednesday Thanksgiving eve the 26th
Good morning Girls
WE HAVE SNOW!!! Ok, it's just a little bit, barely covering the ground, but it's white and looks pretty! Or, it will look pretty until I have to go out and shovel it! We do have plows and folks that shovel our front patio's, but only if we get 2" or more. I doubt we got that much. Northen Minnesota got it much worse and Interstate 94 north of me was shut down for quite a while with several accidents---Semi trucks spin out and in ditches. I'm just so thankful that Bren and Evie made it home safely from South Dakota.
Judi... Normally I'm not a big fan of peanut butter cookies (though I love peanut butter) but dipped in chocolate, might just change my mind. I bet your house looks pretty and festive!! I'm kind of hoping that the kids will come get some stuff down from the attic this weekend so I can start doing a little decorating too.
Lois... Good news that your ankle is doing so well! Staying home here too, especially with the nasty weather! I may have to run up to the grocery store later today, but it's less than a mile from my house!
Maryz.... I would have LOVED to save the old counter top, but there really wasn't a piece worth saving. However, when they cut the hole to put in the new sink, I had them save that part. Next year when Jen and Dave move home, I'm going have them make a small table out of it--perhaps for a little ironing station near my sewing machine. Glad you go more of all your pre-op stuff done. Love a "no pinch" dentist! I should probably get in for a check up one of these days, it's been a while.
Jana... Good news for Michael that all went well with his procedure yesterday. He's able to come home today? Will continue sending prayers!
Chriss.... Never did find the original binding!
,luckily I had enough fabric to make another set. As soon as the faucet and dishwasher are installed I'll send some pictures! The plumbers are coming this afternoon to hook all that up!! I'm so excited to have a dishwasher again! For the last couple days I've been washing dishes in the laundry tub!
Valerie.... OMG... SO hope David is okay!!!
Other than waiting for the plumber today, I have no major plans... though cleaning the sewing room sounds like a good idea! And that's a fun chore!
Wishing you all a great Pre Thanksgiving day! With lots of prayers for all in need, especially Garry and Michael and Chriss's Dad and David!

Re: Wednesday Thanksgiving eve the 26th
Good morning!
Aaron took mycar up to go get Michael..we aren't sure when they will release him this morning. The reason they kept Michael overnight was, he was so late getting done in the cath lab, that the team needed to watch over him for 4 to 5 hours was done and off duty for the day. So they put him on the cardiac floor overnight. I haven't talked to Michael yet, he is very hard to hear on a phone and doesn't know how to text. He thinks texting is a pain! And won't do it. The balloon and stent went in through his wrist with no problem.
So I'm just fussing a little around the house. A load or two of laundry. Crenda was here yesterday and my house is shiny clean. Karlie will be here today or Friday, depending on Daniel. They are bringing up Christmas and Karlie wants to decorate the house. Fine with me! She's a great little pixie! She turns 10 on Sunday. Can't wait to see her face when she opens the great big bear decoration for her bd. Good thing it's wrapped in Christmas paper or she'd be snooping!
Thanksgiving is at Sarah's and everything is passed out to my girls, so the only thing Sarah is cooking is the turkey and the rolls. Because of her food allergies, she uses a special flour that works just the same as regular flour. It's called spelt flour.
Michael just called, still waiting 9n the Dr to free him from jail. Within the hour.
Val - oh big owie! Prayers for a speedy recovery. Will this fall include OSHA looking into why?ยน
Chriss - back when I was young, my Grandmother had a similar injury to her leg. A car door banged shut on her calf causing a large deep bruise that got infected. It was many weeks of dr visits before it healed. She was your dad's age too.
Maryz - glad all your pre op is done. Your surgery will get here fast.
Judi - I've seen cookies dipped in chocolate many times. But haven't done it yet. All I think I know is that you need a oil, like coconut to temper the chocolate to keep it from getting too hard o the cookies.
Lori - I haven't made it up to the mailbox yet, but hopefully today. It's a community locked box, up around the corner, so all is safe.
Maryq - are you saving up dirty dishes to run through the new dishwasher? I think at 9ne time I read that a product called Bar Keepers Friend does a fantastic job on stainless steel sinks. I'm not fan of stainless steel sinks, so I have cast ironed enamel ones.
Well, better get going,
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Re: Wednesday Thanksgiving eve the 26th
Judi, hope you get in and out of the grocery store easily today. I won't go near the grocery store until maybe Sunday at the earliest. It's just to crazy.
Maryz, I have 3 appointments today and some other things I need to take care of as well. So it's a busy day for me. The barn quilt class was fun. I like most classes I take. No I don't need the pattern back. You can keep it or pass it along.
Jana, sounds like the procedure went well. Hope it does the trick.
Maryq, oh no...snow. I bet you are glad you decided not to travel for thanksgiving.
Valerie, glad your DH is okay. That's a bit scary to fall. I bet he is going to be really sore. Glad he didn't break anything. Where are you going?
I have my pt at 10 so I need to scoot. The class yesterday was fun. I brought home a second one to do here.
Have a lovely day.

Re: Wednesday Thanksgiving eve the 26th
Good morning. It's going to be a great day today.
I need to get to those bathrooms that I have been putting off and do a bit of dusting. Then I will tackle the floors. If I can get it all done by Friday I can go to a craft fair. Actually, I can go to the craft fair even if I don't get it all done because I am a grown up and I am the boss of me.
Dad is doing much better. Judy changed his bandage with some direction from dad. I think I will back off a little. Judy is feeling like I am taking over and that is not helping at their house. Friday the HH nurse comes out and will again tell dad to put his leg up. I won't be there, but she will text me if there is an issue needing to be addressed.
Tomorrow I will be at a TG brunch at the Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp. It's really good and my splurge for the year. I guess I have a lot of splurges each year It's good to be me.
Lyn, I'm thinking about you.
Jana, I bet when you got that great news last night about Michael you were able to finally exhale. I'm so glad all went well. I think dad will also have a long recovery time, it's just the swelling and stubbornness that is his issue. I bought a SS spray cleaner that I haven't used yet, it is bar keepers' friend, So far I have just wiped my sink dry like my grandma did. It's just me so it will be easy to upkeep.
Judi, your post made me chuckle. I imagined Ken pondering what kind of cookie he wanted until he finally came up with his best invention yet. A PB cookie dipped in chocolate. You might get him a reeses peanut butter cup to tide him over. When you go to the grocery store don't forget the cool whip. One year it was the only item I forgot and the stores were so crowded. I will never go to the grocery store on TG morning ever again.
Lois, so glad the ankle is behaving. Enjoy your holiday in. Will you cook a turkey?
Maryz, if I were there I'd go to the Mexican dinner with you. A chili relleno sounds wonderful. Your day sounds like mine, full of maybe's. My driveway is also full of gravel and could use another load in a couple of years. I don't remember exactly but there is crushed cement at the bottom of the driveway, and it doesn't wash out. Somehow the crushed cement rehardens, and the water just flows over it into the county culvert. I don't need a culvert. Yes, TTFN. The wonderful thing about Tigger is that Tigger is a wonderful thing.
Valerie, I am glad DH didn't break any bones. that's quite a fall. You've had quite a year, time for everyone to sit still and not move so nothing else happens.
Maryq, gosh darn, I'm not sure I can wait till this afternoon for that sink. I'm getting pretty anxious. I also washed dishes in the laundry room sink and used paper plates most of the time. I wish I had thought of asking them to save the cutout from my sink, but it would just be sitting in the garage. I have a baby changing table that Jerry made into a sewing station for me. So glad that the snow is at your house and not mine.
Lori, that is so cool. I love the colors and the block. Hope the appointments and other things on your todo list go quickly and easily.
I have a new favorite breakfast. toast with peanut butter, honey and a sliced banana. It's what I will go have now. Then it's time to start my day. Dinner will be the meatloaf I didn't make yesterday. You all have a super duper day
