Good morning,

For the third time in the past week my fingers have hit something that caused my entire post to go POOF! Since we got our new furniture, I'm sitting in a chair instead of the old couch. My arms hit the chair arms and so are at a slightly different angle. Maybe that's it. . . . Anyway, I'll try this again.

JANA - well, your news is sort of good. Seems like doctors suspected Parkinsons a year or two ago, before the Lewy Body dx was made. Glad they are back to Parkinsons, even though - Parkinsons. And good news about your eye! My DBIL gets those same shots and times between vary between 4-6 weeks. Go Jays!

LORI - what a great day with your fun friends! Did you buy anything tasty or pretty?

TINA B - Hard to keep warm when cold winds blow. Hot drinks and warming your feet help a lot.

MARY Q - any word on your machine? I'm sure you know your baby and the sounds it makes when it's sick.

JUDI - glad to hear of more progress on your quilt. Soon, it will be out of your hair and onto your bed! Good luck with your tests today. Hope they don't take too long. What is an "all black wedding"? You are coming to the finish line of your busy busy week!

LYN - How are things going at your house? Are you still moving things from here to there to here and back again?

CHRISS - is your kitchen all completed now? Anything left to do? Was Dad able to fix your leaky toilet?

Bill went to fetch our mail yesterday at the UPS store and they have a collection barrel for Food Bank donations. We wanted to make a donation so we started to go through our pantries. One thing led to another and an hour later, I'd thoroughly gone through the kitchen pantry and the overflow pantry in the quilting room. Then I went to sit down to give my hips a rest and realized we had a costume for Amara for tomorrow night (Elsa from Frozen) but no T or T bag! So back to the sewing room I went. I happened to have fabric that had colorful little T or T bags and candy all over it with a black background. Purrfect print! And the lining was all candy corn on white background. I made it just like I make big totes but it was 7x8x2-1/2". Then I did a bunch of small chores - fill bird feeder, water begonias, add water to our deck fountain, empty dishwasher, wash/trim veggies, make salads. All little chores, but they did my hips in for the rest of the day. I hobbled to a chair and sat down to read and fell asleep.

Lee & Lara came home and got parked - further away from that maple tree! Nice to have them back. A-Team will be back tonite. We've missed our little Scabooch.

We ended up with chili over half a baked potato last night. Not sure about tonite. Could be burgers, could be that much bally-hoo'd lasagna. We'll see if we're all eating together and what they want.

That's all I got. No sewing going on here. But I'll get back to it soon!

Morning
I have a Singer 7470. It's about 15 yrs old. I have done all the maintenance, but I won't touch the timing. Joe will take a peak, but it will probably go to shop.
Costume was a witch. DDIL got a minky jumpsuit pajama that was cut small, so I added into sides and opened up the back. Then made a minky cape and a primary color pieced witches hat. There is minky fluff all over place in the room. DDIL will send photo today or tomorrow so when I get it I will post of Facebook page.
Today is get us ready for trunk or treat. Making giant balloon spider for truck. We have never done this before.

Good morning!

Looking to be a nice day here. We are cold, but just above freezing. The house is warming up, so when I get up, it will be nice. Ethan will be down this afternoon to finish planting.

Aaron is liking his new job. As he is settling in, he learned that a old friend is one of the upper executive vice presidents. This friend was Aaron's Young Men's leader when Aaron was 17. It was a nice surprise for both of them to see each other. Small world.

It's Thursday and I will get the house uglies done won't take more than 15 minutes and then head down to the Batt Cave. Mr G will take everything to the street, it's pick up day tomorrow morning. They get here early.

I have all the candy bagged and ready for the trick or treaters tomorrow. I take the easy way out now and fill a bucket with the treat bags on the porch. Too hard to answer the door so many times. It's a common practice here for that method, as many parents are out with their kids, and leave their treats on the porch. Plus it's cold! The grands will show up too. They get warm cookies.

Time to not be a sloth,

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning sorry for my absence but have been busy. Tonywas to come home Tuesday. He woke up at around 2am with severe abdominal pain and colostomy not working. After all the other complications I was just numb and had no idea what to think. A dr (there is a story behind this) ordered him multiple laxatives and another CT scan. He had a really bad day. The CT scan never happened. But he did wake in the middle of the night , well Wed early morning. Seems the laxatives did the job and the nurse had to deal with the colostomy bag at least 5 times. He was much better once the dr got there on Wed so he allowed to come home. So here we are.

Now about the dr. We ha not seen her in a couple of days. She had been visiting daily. By day 3 and no dr, (another surgeon was visiting) Tony decided to ask. Well come to find out his surgeon had been let go by the hospital. She was under their employ. We are not sure what happened as we got good reviews, couldn't find any one who had anything negative to say.
But here we are with a new surgeon. We will see him in the office on the 12th.

I did get the Sunflower quilt done and mailed it to the long armer in Vacaville. Decided not to take a chance on someone new.

I plan to go home Nov 13th and see how he does on his own.

Today I will go to town for groceries. I am going to get some stew on and make some soup for lunch. I will catch up on reading as I can.

Hope everyone has a great day

Good morning Girls

Not much in way of sunshine here this morning , but it appears to be pleasant day. Any day without snow is a good day for me!

Judi... Here's my view.... God gives every one a special talent--some little thing they can do--sewing, mechanics, artists, singers etc. And I believe that God puts us in certain situations to USE those talents for something good---whether we are paid for it or not. Ken has a talent for those mechanical things and tho he's made his career using those talents--he's able to also use that talent for something good---to help someone in need. I believe we are all called to do something GOOD--- some of us answer the call---and some don't. We----here in this little group of quilters and sewists most definitely DO! God sure did not give me the talent to sing--which my kids remind of quite often!!

Maryz... OH my... Amara is going to be Elsa!!? I wish I had the Anna and Elsa dresses I made for Evie and Corinne!! They would probably fit her next year--I think I still have the pattern-you could make one.  (knowing how much you like to make clothes!) Does her tutu still fit?
My machine is home safe and sound--of course when I got there and plugged it in and ran it--it was just fine!!! Go figure! I did ask the plumber the other day about the warranty on my DW--he told me when I register the machine with Whirlpool to put in "Install date" instead of purchase date... then warranty would be from installation. He'd give me paper work if I needed to prove installation.

Flo..... Don't you love minky? It's so soft but it sure is real mess to work with and NOT fun to try to sew on! Years ago I made a boat load of scarves with it--I think I still have a few, and took them to work and sold to co-workers. But I never want to work with Minky again!!! Hope Joe can check out your machine and fix the timing? Is there a repair shop close to you? Do you have back up machine?

Lois.... Must be ESP ... I was contemplating doing laundry myself today... I'll have to check and see what my supply of clean skivvies is--  That's the determining factor if I do laundry today or tomorrow!

Jana.... Do you get lots of "trick or treaters" at your house? I had some candy I bought for the townhouse assn meeting we just had, but I hate it all! (me, bad) We don't get kids down our street--it's kind of private road. I leave my light off just in case. Halloween is my least favorite holiday--only because I hated getting up and down and answering the door all night when I was in my house alone and there lots of neighborhood kids. Sorry to hear that Mr. G has a new diagnosis, but yes I think Parkinsons might be easy to treat etc than Lewy Body Dementia. My Ex has Parkinsons and I see his memory being the biggest issue. There are medications that can be very helpful with shaking. Unfortunately they have be taken several times a day, so more meds to keep track of. Exercise is really important as well. Ex goes to a gym and does boxing there a couple times a week. Please visit the Michael Fox Foundation--they have great information there. My DD Jen does a fundraiser for them every year on her birthday.

Valerie...... Was just thinking about Tony the other night--I try to send a little prayer for him as I have my bedtime conversation with God. Man, I sure the new surgeon can step in and get all the issues cleared up for him. You will probably never know why the surgeon was let go. I'm guessing it's possible that they kind of laid her off and decided to go with a surgeon on a contract basis rather than an employee. Saves the hospital money that way --maybe she didn't want to have the arrangement. This way the hospital doesn't have to pay into SS & Medicare for her or other benefits. Who knows!

Lori.... Small world. . I have a cousin that lives Temecula! She was the flower girl when my folks got married in 1945 (she's a bit older than me) She's the one who taught me how to pronounce Temecula. Here's a thought about Jack... only because my DB Greg had same issue with his little dog.... They discovered he had an infected tooth and it was causing some those achy painful walking things. He was on the Meloxicam too and it helped, but once the tooth was gone--much better!!

Tina... Love it..... I'm a Royal too with a mouthful of crowns! One year I had to have 2 at the same time----no dental insurance coverage!

Chriss.... What's up at your house?

Guess I better get busy. Didn't get much done yesterday. I've been cutting some of my random fabric into 8" squares. Last year when I was sewing for the Bundles of Love group for babies--I'd go pick up kits of 8" squares and stitch together. With all the fabric I have in my garage, I decided I might as well use up some of my stash. At least I know it's nice fabric. The fabric Bundles get donated to use is so awful and some so ugly I would NO way make a baby quilt of it. I'm making snowflakes on my embroidery machines I start a few of those. It takes any where from 30-60 minutes to stitch out a snow flake, so I'll let that machine run while I sew on the other one!

Wishing you all a great Thursday!

Oh PS... Do any of you guys like to watch little craft tutorials on YouTube (or is it just me?) There's a gal I've found that makes all sorts of cute stuff with things from Dollar Tree. I now have a shopping list of things from $ Tree. Her channel is called "Blessings Craft Therapy".... if you google that you might find it. She's a hoot!!

It hit mid 30's last night, but will be mid 70's today and sunny.

Judi, I have watched the movie Angels Sing, it was very good and one reason I subscribed to Angel.

MaryZ, I haven't gotten any rearranging done.

Judi, Maybe I need Ken to visit. I have a Samsung fridge and it has water/ice gathering on the fridge floor under the bottom tray, which then gets stuck and doesn't want to open. There's an ice maker in the top corner of fridge, but I don't have it on, only the one in the bottom freezer.

Flo, I look forward to seeing you post the witch, I bet she will be real witchy.

Valerie, It's good to hear from you and a Tony update. Seems odd that if he was having troubles they would release him anyway. Also makes one wonder if the surgeon was let go, did it have anything to do with Tony's surgery or care. 🤔

Jana, Years ago I saw a video of a man with Parkinson's and the positive effect of taking Glutathione.

Lois, Thanks for reminding me that laundry should be on my list today.

MaryQ, The most I did with Minky is make little embroidery Minky toys. Thanks for reminding me of that. I have 2 babies coming in the family next spring and may add a stuffed toy with the receiving blanket and burp rags.

Chriss, I hope you like your new do on the kitchen.

No arranging has been done. Tuesday I had to make a trip to Marble Falls for several items, one being the stuff to fix the riding mower. My handyman will be here this afternoon to work on that. Yesterday we met our friends at our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch. It was good to see them after being gone all summer. Then I tried reading through the new insurance stuff. There's new letters in our mail that I probably need to review about the insurance, so that was forwarded up from Rockport yesterday. Sometimes having to forward the mail has it's down side especially when it's time sensitive like this insurance. But, until we stop traveling I cannot change to this address unless I know we are here to get mail.

I better get a move on. I don't want the handyman showing up early and me lazy here in my PJ'S.

Hope everyone has a great day.
Lyn

Good morning. What a beautiful day it's going to be today. It's supposed to be warm so the windows will be open. I love this weather.

Today I am going to take it easy. I think I overdid it yesterday, and other than making some deviled eggs my plan is to relax. I'm not good at restrictions. I might or I might not throw a load of laundry in the washer.

Judi, I couldn't tell you the last time I was at a wedding or shower or anything like that. Hope you found Ken some britches and that you have fun. I made stew in the crock pot some time ago and used cream of mushroom soup, I will probably add it from now on.

Maryz, Amara needs some sidewalk chalk so she can properly decorate the cement in the shop. It's fun to see things through their eyes. If only we were all satisfied with Bugs Bunny, tractor rides and maple leaf gathering. I think it's required to post a picture of all Disney Princesses. It's a forum rule, look it up. My kitchen has a ways to go to be complete, but it is usable. The wall oven needs to be removed and shelving added so the microwave can go in that hole. I also haven't decided about painting my cabinets yet.

Flo, hope the machine gets fixed, looking forward to the witch costume pictures.

Lois, oops, you won't see this, you are upstairs quilting by now, have fun.

Jana, I am thankful we don't have trick or treaters here. They all go into town for trunk or treat then go up and down a couple of streets for candy. I guess you can't have too much candy. Your bowl of treats will be perfect for the little gobblins. Glad Aaron likes his job.

Valerie, I was just wondering where you've been hiding and poof, there you are. It's good to see you. Sorry the old surgeon was let go but the new surgeon will put a fresh look on Tony and hopefully see what needs to be done and fix him once and for all.

Maryq, I have seen those dollar tree craft videos. People are so creative. Sounds like your sewing machine just needed to be jiggled around a bit. Interesting about the dogs tooth and his walking. Who'da thought? Not much going on here, I would like to wipe down the doors for each room. They gather dust because they aren't flat. I have 8 doors that need attention. I agree with your note to Judi about God given talents. I also feel that we can be each other's angels. A kind word or smile can really help someone else. Sometimes it's just what the other person needs to hear to remind them that it's going to be ok.

Lyn, I can see how getting your mail gathered in one place when you have several addresses could be annoying. You've mentioned that you won't be traveling forever, is the plan to settle in Texas? If I get a vote Texas would be my pick.

So, I guess that means it's time for breakfast and to get my day started. I have hamburger thawing and will make a taco salad tonight. I have avocado's that need to be used up

Have a marvy day,
Chriss

Chriss, Texas is the HOME place, that's why we bought this house. We decided in 2021 that when we decided to stop traveling, we wanted to stay in Texas for several reasons. Though I can't get Garry to sell the Colorado house, we don't want to live there, especially in the winter. We don't like what the politics has become and people moving in want to change it to what they left, which makes no sense.

Those doors will wait. How about enjoying the weather and sit outside with Moose for a while.
