Good morning Up at 5 this morning awake, Got Ken out the door again, They called him last night to come back to the job site today, He left at 6. I have no plans today and it is raining. I finished the laundry yesterday so today is a sew day, While I wait for the order to come I will put together a table runner in Christmas fabric,, First I need to finish pressing the binding and put that aside. This table runner was on the shelf not as a UFO but as a maybe project, It is a simple dresden plate runner,,,Might be a gift for a friend if I get it done,
Hope you all are doing fine on this rainy fall morning,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Blessed Sunday morning
Off to church soon so this will be quick. Changed plans and went to Wisconsin yesterday instead of today. The kids ran up their driveway to open arms from us. Went to soccer games, kids scored and one who was goalie kept scores out, listened to cello and viola lessons beautiful instruments, had homemade ice slurpies, chilled out and brought electric piano up. They did not know what to make of it. DD was happy with the day, too. Brought Olive Garden in after last late soccer game and helped with baths and bed then came home. Also had impromptu Happy Birthday with candle in dessert too for the birthday twins. Drove home late in rain for an hour the only thing bad thing of the day. Got to bed after midnight so may be a nap involved today. Probably no sewing today. Have church quilt meeting Thursday and I have 8 sets ready to go so no real pressure to get more done. Just want to be ahead for Nov and Dec. DD3 and I also took on making Chrismons for the church Sunday School that have to be done by first week in December. Former chair of this who asked to be relieved last January finally gave up the stuff for us to work on. So we will be working on that too, small Sunday School so no problem this year. Will better plan next year. I made these back when my kids were in Sunday school same church I guess about 40 years ago no problem here. So once again I have many things up in the air all at one time and this week also are two routine tests before Dr. appointment on the 31st of October. Hoping to lose a couple more pounds before then, because I think I would be 15 pounds down from last year, she will be happy and per cardiologist still have a way to go doing it sensibly.
Then of course laundry and I too have outside windows to do only about 8 sets of windows all reachable with small ladder. We have a three step ranch and the bedroom windows on east side need a taller ladder which we do not do. Have to get son to do those.
Not much else, blessings and prayers of healing, comfort and relief to all in need today. Safe travels to all on the road and love to all,
Hugs,
TinaB

Happy sunday to you all

I am in the hospital parking lot waiting till seven o'clock. They don't like visitors before then. We are experiencing yet another setback. Well, it may be the same one. I think I mentioned they were going to do another CT scan because he had been vomiting. So everybody assumed it was an ileus, it was not. There is a collection of fluid somewhere near his stomach. So they went in yesterday to tap it ( which means they inserted a needle through his abdomen to try to withdraw the fluid) and what they got was purulent material, which normally means an infection. So they put in yet another drain, and it was draining the purulant material. It then turned to a dark substance which they think might be stool. Which is not good. They have sent if for culture. They have started him on an antibiotic and an antifungal, IV of course. Absolutely nothing by mouth, not even ice chips. Today they will do an endoscopy
to see if they can find anything. The doctor said it could be any number of things, but most of them don't make sense, because he's eight days post op. Could be an ulcer, or a wound caused by the tube they have in his stomach, keeping it empty, or it could be a nick that occurred during surgery, but she said he would have been sick by day or two, if that's what it was. So we really don't know at this point.

We'll let you all know more when I know more. I did see two seems this morning before I left the house so I could say I sewed. His hospital stay is definitely being extended.

Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get there! Have a great day everyone 😀!

Good morning,

FLO - sorry your BBQ got postponed. But if you're like us, you need the rain. Just prefer it to fall at a more convenient time. I have to say, neither of us are fans of buffalo, either. We've had it several different times, cooked several different ways, by several different people. Didn't like it.

LORI - we have a conundrum happening here tonite - our Mariners play at 5 and the Seahawks at 7. Oh dear! The Hawks are playing Cindy's team, and she is a fan so I'll probably be texting with her a little tonite. So does Jack have arthritis or is something else going on. Poor baby. Do you give him mommy-kisses where it hurts? I give Scottie kisses along his back sometimes and I know they are what keeps him going. It can't be the $4/day worth of arthritis meds we are pumping into him!

JUDI - You may have to install a swinging door at your house if this is the way it's going to be! At least you got a chance to do Ken's laundry, How lucky was that!? (not) Is your Christmas table runner one big round DP or is it 2 or 3 in a row? That would be so pretty done up in poinsettia colors. I should make one - or two. Or three. I don't have any Christmas tablerunners. They would be good projects to work on during these 'down days'. Thanks for the ideas . . . I think.

CHRISS - sorry about your sneezer getting a workout. I can't be dog hair. It just can't. But if it is, it's worth it! Let the dog hair float! So how is the kitchen coming along? Is your sink in yet - and working? And is today the day you were thinking of taking Judi on the long ride to the quilt show? Is that happening? A 17-min mile. Good for you! I think the last morning walk I went on I did a 30-min 1/3 mile. That was 3 weeks ago. Now - I just pray I can walk to the bathroom in time! So, in my book, you are whizzing through the miles on that treadmill! And yes, I use lasagna noodles in my lasagna. If I didn't it wouldn't be lasagna, would it? My old friend, Lois, used to spread sausage and cheeses the length of the cooked noodles, roll them up, put it them in the pan like a cinnamon roll, then cover all with sauce and more cheese. A different, and kind of fancy presentation. I'm thinking, because there will be no meat, that I will shred a small zucchini and add a thin layer of that after draining it, because, like you reminded me (I hadn't thought about it), there is a lot of water in zucchini. I could even add some shredded carrot . . .

LYN - I told Bill where you ended up last night (at Sundance RV park) and we do indeed know not only the park you are in but exactly where you are parked - exactly where we were parked both times we have stayed there! In fact, we know the route you are taking very well. We took it last year to Austin after stopping in CO for a week to see my sisters and our brother who was just "passing through" with a Christmas tree. :D I wish you good traveling weather the rest of the way. (It can't be said often enough!).

MARY Q - how was the wedding? And the colors? Did you get pictures? Vegetarians. So hard to cook for because no matter what I make someone's not happy. But A&A encourage us to offer Amara any kind of meat. They said, while they don't cook it themselves, they don't want to make that decision for her. Aut told us that last Thanksgiving so we gave her turkey. And she liked it!

JANA - you are smart to be thinking ahead with the gliding chair. Because when you need it, you need it. And it sounds as if you are more organized with meds than the hospitals I have worked in! Glad you have a pharmacist in the family - sort of. Within reach anyway. Some kids thrive very well with on-line and home school learning. I'm glad he's getting the socialization, too. Our friend's son & wife home schooled their kids all the way through. They got into a group of parents who all had different skills to teach. They had field trips, group activities, even a prom! Some classes were on-line. Some in person. Their DD has already graduated college - in 3 years. I suspect your Ethan is going to be one of those great success stories! That baby quilt sounds so cute - and unique. There are some darling baby Pooh fabrics out there.

VAL - Not a very good report today. We better up the prayers! My friend, Annette, has some similar symptoms, undergone similar testing, and she was diagnosed with Watermelon Stomach ( gastric antral vascular ectasia (GAVE). Bleeding in the stomach causes inside of stomach to become striated, like a striped watermelon. And how are you doing? You are carrying quite a load right now, and probably missing home and your hubby. How is your hubby doing without you?

TINA B - wow! You've packed a full week into one day! I don't know what "Christmons" are that you are making for your Sunday School. Was that a typo I couldn't figure out or are they something I've just never heard of? Maybe I want to make them, too!

LOIS - turkey sounds delicious. Did you cook a whole birds? just the breast? I think I'll do a breast for TG. I like to make turkey tetrazzini with leftovers. What are you working on today upstairs?

I did get some sewing done here. I finished all the sections of my KTVC and have them all sewn together into two halves of the quilt top. Today I'll sew the last seam combining the two halves. I just pooped out yesterday. Next up will be borders. Not sure how quickly I'll get to those. I want Bill to dig out the tote with the tree ornaments today so we're ready for a little tree decorating party later this week. I need to find my tree skirt and put out a couple Christmas quilts to meld with my Halloween quilts. I set out the few Thanksgiving decor items I have, too. A ceramic turkey size of a soccer ball, turkey candleholders and two 6" pilgrims. We're almost ready to celebrate Hallowthanksmas! We have gifts wrapped and ready to go under the tree except one last gift for Lee & Lara - the movie The Long Long Trailer. Bill ordered it off e-Bay , but accidentally had it sent to our house instead of our PMB box at UPS store. We don't receive mail at our house, so it got returned. So then he said he'd try to order it again. And then promptly forgot about it for 3 days until just this minute when I asked him the status. I love him. He can do anything, and he's willing to do everything, but he can remember nothing. He is starting to write himself notes and make lists so that's a start.

Tonite our Mariners play at 5pm. If they win this game they go to the World Series for the first time ever. Seattle is crazy town right now with Mariner Fever. Our Seahawks play at 7pm so we're going to have a conflict. We record both games so we'll manage flipping back and forth between both games. Supper last night was tasty - thick boneless pork chops & chunked potatoes cooked in the crockpot all day in mushroom gravy. Tonite I'll shred the leftover chops into the gravy and serve it over rice, salad on the side. Tomorrow - maybe grilled steak and baked potatoes.

Have a nice day!

40° and sunny in Amarillo. Should be a good travel day. Yesterday was windy, but thankfully it was out of the north.

Valerie, Your update on Tony reminds me of something that happened to our DBIL, Jason, several years ago. He went in for a hernia surgery, out patient, was home about 4 or 5 days and hadn't pooped. The Dr told him to use an enema. Jason got worse and Marilyn finally got him in the car and went to the ER (stubborn like most men). He had emergency surgery by a different Dr. The first one had nicked the bowel and everything was dumping inside him. He was in ICU for a long time. Sending more prayers for Tony and you.

We are only going a hundred miles today, over to Wellington. We will visit the man and his 2 children we met there back in 2020. The Mom had passed away 2 months before of a brain tumor and he and kids were camping the weekend we stopped. We became fast friends. There's a Walmart on our way out of Amarillo, I think I will pick up a frozen lasagna and ice cream bars, so I don't have to unhook Jeep to have a meal in town with them.

Hope everyone has a good day.
Lyn

Lyn, sounds like your making your way down to home. That's a terrible story about DBIl.

Valerie, I hope they can figure out what's wrong. The worst is not knowing. Glad you got to sew even if it was only 2 seams.

Maryz, they think Jack has arthritis, and are giving him anti inflammatory. He's still limping after 3 days, so hopefully they will kick in soon. If not we'll try something else. I feel so bad for him. He loves his walks and can't do them. I give him lots of love and kisses. Wrigley doesn't understand why Jack can't play. I'll be watching the game hoping the Mariners win.

Tinab, sounds like you had a great day with the kids and grand kids. I bet you are tired today.

Judi, well that was a quick turn around for Ken. At least you had him home for a day.

Lois, how is your machine working? Did they get it all fixed up?

I need to clean up the sewing room today. I keep putting if off and it is a mess. I tend to just dump everything in there. I haven't sewn on my machine in a few weeks. It needs some attention. I did do a visible Sashiko mending on a pair of jeans. Don't know that Bill will wear them. It's pretty easy and it really reinforces the hole. I don't have anything that have holes. I usually get rid of them. Dinner will be spaghetti and meatballs.

Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning all!

OH gosh, what a truly beautiful day fall day!! Tis a little breezy and I have a sneaky feeling that by the end of the day there will be more leaves on the ground than on the trees!

Judi... What a great Idea!!! A table runner with Dresden plate! I think I have a whole bunch of left over DP's in a box somewhere! One of my first DP quilts was one using El's Vintage fabric line (can't' remember the name of it now) I have one little shoe box off leftovers!

Flo... My embroider hoop has only a 4" hoop, but If I can help in anyway let me know. I can make up some sample things and send to you!

Lois...How many quilts do you have lined up to do? With you machine out of commission for a while I bet you have a few.

Tina.... What are "Chrismons"?

Valerie... OH so sorry to hear that news that Tony is having such complications. I so hope and pray that they don't have to open him up again. Poor guy has to be just miserable. Sending lots of prayers today.

Maryz... The wedding was lovely and the venue was amazing!! My poor sister was exhausted by the end of the day. It was all over by 10pm last night and Annie had been going non-stop since 0700! I'll check my phone to see if I got some good pictures to share! Do you have to do the grocery shopping for all the veggies before the A team gets there? My BFF has a very special diet, when she visited, I just showed her how to use the stove and pointed her to the pans and utensils!

Lyn... Every once in a while, I see a MH like yours on the highway and I think of you maneuvering your big home on highways! I don't imagine Garry drives much, I'm amazed that you drive it all over the place. You are so brave!!!

Chriss... How is your sneezer this morning? Yes, having a dog is well worth a few sneezes. Did Dad get your sink hooked up for you?

Lori... Is Jack your black lab? So hard to see our fur friends hurt because they can't tell you about it. My DB has a little mixed breed dog and he just wasn't acting right... wouldn't eat and just laid about. Turns out, poor baby had an infected tooth! I think they ended up pulling the tooth and he's back to his old self!

The Wedding was beautiful!!! The venue was 3 or 4 different buildings and the wedding itself was in one, dinner was in another. Erin has 6 bridesmaids with different dresses in different shade of soft rust and peach. Remember the old days when the bridesmaids had to wear all the same dress (mine did) So fun to see different colors and styles. This is the website. https://redeemedfarm.org/

Before I had to get ready yesterday, I stated cleaned out a small dresser I use for storage in my living room... so today goal is to finish that project... maybe sew something... not sure what. but a day without sewing is just another darn old day! Threw a pork loin in a crockpot, so that's what's for dinner.

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday!

Good morning!

It's beautiful bright and sunny. Cold, but still nice. Today is my Matt's BD. I think he's 47, if my math is right.

Church starts at noon and my music is all ones I know well. After church I can sew. My 49ers play the 6 0m game tonight, the national televised game. Yesterday was the huge in state rivalry game, BYU and Utah. BYU won and are still undefeated this year.. we'll see later today where they move up in the rankings, as teams ahead of us, lost.

Valerie - so sorry to read of the difficulties for Tony. So many things to deal with.

Maryz - rooting for the Mariners! Somebody needs to step up to the plate and beat that other team in the World Series!

Judi - is Ken's job, long term?

Maryq - I do remember everything for a wedding had to be match-matchy! I was in a wedding and the dresses were a baby blue southern Ellen huge hoop skirt and the bride had a melt down because the dresses were not the exact same shade, they went back three times, before the wedding!

Time to get going,

Hugs,
Jana
